EDIT: DATE CHANGED TO ACCOMODATE RIDERS!!!! (can a mod change the title?)
If weather looks good for SATURDAY... that's the day. If Sunday looks better weatherwise, we'll switch it to Sun.
Let's shoot for an 11AM meeting... riding by 11:30. That will give people that have to travel time to get here.
Ride starts in Springfield, MA. I will PM with directions to start point if interested.
This is for quiet, dual sport bikes only. Not for barely legal dirtbikes. We'll be getting close to houses and riding some questionable areas where noise would be bad.
If you came on the last one we had, it will be similar, but with another whole area thrown in that we didn't get to last time. I'd like to limit the size to 10 bikes (and we already have 3)... so we have about 7 spots open.
Add your name and bike below if interested:
1 - Kim M. (Yamaha XT250)
2 - Renee I (Kawasaki KLX250s)
3 - Tony I (Kaw KLR650)

Tony,
I'm flying to Chicago Sunday so, Saturday is my only available day this weekend.
1 - Kim M. (Yamaha XT250)
2 - Renee I (Kawasaki KLX250s)
3 - Tony I (Kaw KLR650)
4 - Paige (KLX250s)
5 - Chris (Husky)
Doesn't matter to us... so I have no problem switching the main date to Saturday... with Sunday as the rain date.

So....what kind of gear is recommended for dual sport rides?

Sturdy footwear. Tree stumps, rocks & roots can twist an ankle into impossible directions. Off-road specific boots are built to minimize that risk. A fresh pair of "Tims" is no substitute.

Elbow and knee guards wouldn't hurt... if you're prone to "tip over".
Otherwise, nothing too special (besides boots, as mentioned)
Forecast is looking nice for Saturday...
Anyone else care to join us???
I can't do Saturday. You guys have fun.
Saturday at 11 it is.
Right now, it looks like just the 5 of us.
Ken... if my worker is too hung over to work on Sunday... maybe we'll ride Sunday? Unfortunately ... won't know until Sun morning.
Thanks for showing us around again, T. Red Bull & oxycodone? You're a maniac!

I had fun...
But I'm paying for it today.
Kim... how are you doing? Any bruises?![]()
I've got a pretty good multi-colored bruise on one on my legs but besides that I came out pretty good considering how many times I landed on the ground.![]()
Thanks to you Tony for leading a great ride (even though it did include that evil substance deep freakin' sand). Also a thank you to Chris for getting my front brake line back together (i'll be bleeding that line later today). Also to Paige and Renee for their encouragement and words of wisdom.
I'm still amazed at how much abuse a dirt-bike and still stay upright. I can't tell you how many times I was moving along and thinking that there was no way I wasn't going to crash but I just stayed on the gas and kept looking forward and the bike just keep chugging along. *That* is cool!
