Can Am Spyder at a trackday?

Last week at the Summer nationals there was a bunch of Can Am Spyders running around. Apparently you could take them for test rides..

Would a Spyder be allowed to run at a trackday? Just a random thought I had. I would question how much fun they would be on the track...if it would even be allowed on it...

Boston Moto? Tony? How would you guys rule on this?

I feel like brining one of those to a track day would be a waste of 200 bucks. Find a rotary and fly around that a couple times.

Boston Moto had a yellow one show up at one of the NHMS dates. Almost like it came out of nowhere!



But I don't think you'd make too many friends riding that massive thing at a trackday....plus, too many electro-nannies keeping the fun factor to a minimum. No spinning 'em up out of 12, that's for sure!

no wheel spin, get them on 2 wheels and the engine shuts down to put it back on three.. unless yuor handicapped or over 70 I cant see why you'd want one.

They are to streetbikes, what quads are to dirtbikes. They will never mix well.

I would assume it would follow the same rules as if they were trikes.

Although they're more stable at higher speed cornering due to the way the CanAm leans.

I rented one in North Conway. Thing scared the shit out if me on the Kanc. Dodgy steering, clunky shifting, and not leaning into a turn had me all fucked up. I felt like I was driving an ATV on pavement at 60mph.

Forget CanAm, there is a 3-wheel Miata you can buy from a snowmobile company and instantly join the gang or something... like geriatric gang at DD.

A Spyder has it's place. A friend of mine who has never been on a motorcycle but has ridden sleds all his life bought one. Him and his wife love the thing, they both ride sleds! He says it is like a sled on the road and that is what he likes about it.

But no on the track day with the bikes, the 2 of them just wouldn't mix so well. A ride on a track I am sure would be fun, just not with the bikes riding around unless things are kept VERY tame.
