Well, as some may know, I spent some down time in the gtl this last weekend. I was feeling really good, getting a big slide every lap coming onto the front straight but in control thanks to my Dunlop tires.
Until the lap I passed Josh Coombs, my closest competitor. I stayed on the gas a bit longer and after 2 close calls could not save the highside.
So next thing I know I am in the hospital with 8 broken ribs and broken scapula.
What amazes me is that after some extra time in the hospital here in NYC, I am pretty much back to functioning pretty well. I got out of the hospital Friday and went to work Friday night.
This is way better (so far) than when I did my clavicle (collar bone) a few years back. That one I had the plate operation about 1.5 weeks after the incident.
The pain with that one was like 15 times worse than this.
I am still not able to street ride but cant believe how much better this experience has been.
Just wanted to see if anyone else was unfortunate enough to have the same experience.
Ah jeez. Good to hear you're on the mend, I'll hope to stick with my not-too-painful plated clavicle and NOT compare.![]()

So... yeah... next time don't do that.
Glad to hear you're not impacted too badly. Rest up, heal up, and get back here so B.J. isn't trying to maintain the EX Mafia honor by himself.
that's weird but glad you're doing alright.

I have not, and do not want to, have the same experience. Glad you're doing OK! Now get with the times and get that 650 project in the works. Actually its kinda fun seeing someone still kick it with the 500.
Get well soon man cheers from plated clavicle.
