There is so much fail in this guy's posts, I don't even know where to start.
Humble pie tastes like shit and I suggest you cancel your order. I had a cool time at Penguin this past April, blew by a bunch of people on the track and diced it up with some of the faster guys out there. Then some freak instructor on a busted ass 500ex blew by me like I was waiting for the light to change. I was riding an '07 G1K, fwiw. I say that in the past tense because my "skills" got the better of me when I bought the farm in T4. End of riding for the year.

Don't outride yourself, turn down the ego a notch and have fun. Do the advanced school and see if you can run the pace....best of luck. See you out there next year!

So what you're saying is that you ride.... Flat Out.

I never saw an instructor pass me. As a matter of fact, I passed one of the instructors who wears glasses. I think they were all set riding in the rain. I noticed alot of people getting nervous in the corners because of how wet it was. I had alot of confidence in my tires, and have done a long ride in the snow so rain doesn't scare me too much.

So, is this a new standard of comparison?

I'm not sure which decision you're referring to, but what I was saying in my posts is that in my opinion, there is no better way to learn how to race, than actually getting out there into a race, and doing it over and over again. Track days aren't really an option for me because I've yet to see a track day on a weekend, and I work full-time in a position which can't really be abandoned to go ride my bike on a track. Also, most of the track days I've looked into make it clear that they don't allow inside passing, and generally exist so guys can just go have fun. I like fun, but I'm more interested in racing. I can ride fast around corners and hit near top speeds on the streets/highways if that is all I was looking to do. A couple of track days would be a must for someone completely new to going fast and dragging a knee, but I think I'm ready to race with the novices. I've been to Loudon and have seen how fast those guys are going and I am confident in my abilities. That's not to say that I think I'm going to be faster than anyone else. I could quite possible get my ass kicked on my first few ventures onto the track, in fact that is what I expect to happen, but that is all part of learning. Hope that is enough of an answer!
