A few friends and myself are trying to figure out what people are really looking for when they go to a trackday.
1-on-1 riding (full or half day), cheaper prices, more dates, different tracks, better dates, etc...
Any input will be helpful

Cheap, well organized, and an org that doesn't put up with reckless riders.

There's no such thing as a free lunch. There's also no such thing as cheap and well organized trackdays either, not ones that last. The right infrastructure coats money. From advertising to insurance. Don't take my word for it, ask Tony, Eric or any other successful trackday org owner.Originally Posted by R1

30 minute sessions, 1 session per hour, or 20 minutes on/20 minutes off (2 groups)
No squids
Well demarcated groups based on skill level
Small groups
No lunch break, ride right through
Tech comes to you at your bike
Run from 10 to 6 to avoid cold wet morning and get more time in the sun

When I go to track days as a customer to ride, I like tightly run days (on schedule, good communication), space to ride (either via rider-oriented rules or groups that allow for enough space to pass), and a welcoming atmosphere. Cornerspeed is a perfect example and make VIR trips a treat.
Heh heh, I know, I was just trying to keep it on a real level. I was responding to Keith's "cheap and well organized" post. It's obvious that the ideal trackday is rree, sunny, 72 degrees, only 1 attendee, free filet mignon, 9 ambulances, 56 cornerworkers, strippers, massage service and a blow job after you pack up.
I'm just pointing out that this thread could be useful but let's be realistic.

I was kidding about the free lunch but wouldn't mind some Kenny g blaring before take off.

As a long time street rider who somehow survived pushing my luck and my Moto Guzzi 'way too hard on the street, then dialled it back a lot when daughter & business were born, I want to get back the feel of "going for it" but without the street hazards.
I want instructors & control riders to help without being too "teachy".
I want to confront my fear & caution with no more excuses.
I want to stretch the legs of my ST Ducati.
I want to do it with increased skills, so I still don't die!
So I want to share a racetrack with people of similar skills and instructors of superior skills.
And I want a bunch of fellow riders to BS with in between sessions.
