I would say that Bruce and Susie's hard work made BCM the name it was. Ducati just happened to be the right brand at the right time and the one he had an interest in. 851/888 were winning, the 916 was released and it was good times.
Leslie's lament about Ducati is a story I've heard from many of my Duc dealers. Another one that gets them going is setting up OCC as a dealer. Did they even sell one?

I worked at Ducati USA HQ and left on my own accord. Get a few drinks in me sometime and ask me about it.... 'nuff said.
Sad to see BCM go.

I'd still argue that w/o Ducati, and the local community thereof, BCM wouldn't have grown into what it was. You wouldn't see Yamahondasuki riders going 2, 3, 4 hours+ out of their way to get to a shop... maybe I'm wrong, but regardless... as a13x inferred, he'll share his thoughts with you over beers, and that's where statements like that belong, not in a public announcement.
I'll always remember my first trip to BCM, when Susie called me "Happy Kid"... I was all of 16 or so at the time and they (unlike other shops I'd been to) didn't dismiss me as some kid looking that'll never buy or ride a Ducati... 10 or so Ducati's later.... well
Sadly in recent years more than ever, the old saying "you can't go home again" is ringing true. Sad times indeed.
IMHO Bruce was BCM...revered, trusted, and a mentor to some of the best like Kyle and Eric. He was the heart a soul of the Northeast Ducati community...and Suzie was the one that kept him from giving away everything!!! They were (and are!) a great pair!

Amen man... despite Suzie having to be the bad cop at times, she kept the lights on for sure so the rest of us could enjoy all those great people.
Now the torch has been passed and I'm confident Jesse and the good folks at Seacoast are more than up to the task... and hey, they're closer (at least for many)!
In general for all motorcycling etc I am a little surprised that the factories don't have some kind of loan or participation to keep dealers and their customer base floating over bad times
