Update to my situation...the guy has someone coming by this Saturday to look at the bike and will bring cash...and since I would have to have him ride it all the way to NYC and I can't meet him until the following weekend, this deal looks like its not going to work out...
Nope, I don't think so. He was not pushing me to come this weekend. He just mentioned it and said he wanted to give me a heads up that it may not be around this weekend. Just a courtesy thing, which I appreciated unlike the fockin' dude that I was supposed to purchase the stupid Yammi from.
Wil... I'm not money bags or anything but I have never bought a bike
with a real bank involved... I've borrowed money but not from
a bank. So basically I'm saying I dont know all the ins and outs
about dealing with motorcycle loan but can't you get the cash
before the purchase?
I assume you know for sure your getting a bike right?
Otherwise you will always be up against another buyer who's got cash,
and you are making it hard on yourself.
Seller's are always gonna gravitate towards cash over letters of intent.
just my 2 cents... (and 2 cents aint gonna help you get a bike, but hey
just trying to help)
Otherwise hit up some of the dealers that have used bikes, they are
used to dealing with financing and won't be as skeptical.
Check Bettancourts, Brockton, and GBM.

No, I understand that. I can get the loan check right away, but I can't pick it up for a couple weekends and someone is going to his place to take a look at the bike and that saves him the hassle of riding it 5 hours to NYC from VA. If it doesn't work out, then it wasn't meant to be. We'll see what happens though.

I'ld also size up the guy and estimate how often the thing was bouncing on the rev limiter.
If he's a flower then the goodies maybe just for show and it wasn't beat to death
