Check the date code on the tires, if they are 5 years old or older, you will much happier with new tires, even if the old ones have tread. They tend to get hard with age which makes them lose traction and damping capability.

...welcome to our world. If you have a fire in your belly for riding motorcycles then you are in for a fantastic experience. This forum is full of good advice and bad advice. Most of the time it's easy to tell the difference but not always!

There are a lot of folks here who can answer any question...from picking routes to picking lines...from changing oil to changing underwear...from street riding to steet posing...and most importantly, what color wheels are fastest!

Funny side-note:

A buddy from highschool (in VA) 0just sent me a text today that said, "GymkhanaJosh, what a weak name, noob!!!" He's not a member up here, isn't into racing, and doesn't own a bike. I was confused as to how he would know that username. Well, I posted pics of my bike on my Facebook/Myspace. When he saw it he searched for "Kawasaki Ninja GPZ500ex" on Google. The 4th result was a link to this thread, lol. He said he saw GymkhanaJosh and knew it had to be me. I did the same search on Yahoo and the FIRST result was a link to this thread.
