If I didn't have 2 motorcycles, 4 cages, and an RV, I'd be SERIOUSLY looking into a new ride right about now. Most of the new model year sportbikes gimme total wood...
I've been haggling with some clown over a '96 VFR (wunna my favorite bike of ALL time), but he's looking for more money than I wanna spend...
Man! I'd LOVE to be in the market right now. Hmmmm....what would I get?
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?

Nope. The VFR (Interceptor) is a V-Four. In my opinion, possibly the best engine EVER put in a sportbike. Degs had a good take on that engine. Something about Honda only using that in the VFR as a sort of 'showcase', to tout what they're really capable of building...Originally posted by beet

With all due respect Jay, I strongly suggest you ride my bike back-to-back with any version of the VFR before buying.
You would be quite surprised at how smooth the triple is. The torque band is broad, and the newer generation has 10HP more than mine. (Mine is a 2000, they upgraded in 2002.) I swear the 955i triple is ALSO one of the very best motors you can find in a street bike.
Brakes are better also, and in NH, the factory (option) heated grips are VERY nice.
These bikes are about even money with a VFR when new, but buying used one can get them CHEAP. Usually, much cheaper than a VFR in equal condition.
Don't take my word for any of it, just take a ride. Most anyone that does comes away with second thoughts on VFRs.
2021 Triumph Street Triple R, Sapphire Black
Triumphs are nice, especially the Daytona 600 and 955i. I have ridden a few hundred miles on the TT600 in our garage, very good bike. The round styling on the other models reminds me of a Katana. I hope Triumph updates the styling on their models soon. With all due respect Jay, I strongly suggest you ride my bike back-to-back with any version of the VFR before buying.
14" Biceps. So what if I am weak...
With all due respect to you Ken, I'm not particularly fond of the ST's looks. The ONLY Trumpet I'd buy is the (shhhhhhh....) new Daytona...
The mid-90's VFR was - and still is - wunna my all time favorite bikes. When I got my RF back in October '94, I was *THIS* close to getting the VFR. Wunna the main reasons I went with the RF was 'cuz I had 3 or 4 friends that rode VFR's at the time...

Ever ride a 9R? They are easy to dismiss when compared (on paper) to other liter bikes but for real world riding, they are great bikes.
I am well on my way to getting a 2003 VFR800
I have toyed with the thought of an Apilia Futura and other exotics, but came to my senses. Service and Parts can be found on a Honda any where in the world at a reasonable price. The fit and finish is exceptional, and the cutting edge technology is second to none. Undertail exhaust and single sided swingarm are copies of the Duc, with out the headaches of a Duc. I like the styling of the new ones also, very well thought out. You get the best of both worlds, with out sacrificing anything, so my vote is for the VFR800

Why does everyone think Ducati invented the single sided swingarm?
I believe the RC30, RC45, and some of the street VFRs all had one before Ducati started doing it. (Didn't Ducati start using it with the 916?)

If I had a wad of cash (heh, heh....'wad') I'd without a doubt grab me the Augusta. By far my fave exotic. That pic is the shit!

I've been saying that I want a V-Strom but the more I think about it, if I had the cash, it would be an R1150GS
either one will prolly make my insurance go up to $300/year
