You will learn quite a bit about maneuvering your bike at low speeds, choosing which part of the lane to ride in to make you more visible to other drivers, etc.
As far as sport riding is concerned, the BRC will teach you very little. It is a one-size-fits-all class intended to teach riders of all types of bikes how to operate them assuming that they've never gotten on a bike before.
You will need to either do one of the advanced classes that some have mentioned here (Lee Parks), a track day, or do what I did and find some people that will tolerate you and let you chase them around. Monkey see, monkey do. Just do yourself a favor and don't try to 'lean more' in the mean time, you're liable to scrape a peg and crash.

If my street scoot had a plate I'd be banging down your door. As bad as your start with nesr was, nobody wants to see somebody succeed at being a great motorcycle rider more than I.

Double stuffed is the only way I like to see Oreo...

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
I love my stomp grips, they are definitly ball savers for sure and allow me to be right in close with the tank and keep me there . I use to hit my nads all the time before I got them. They work really well when your not hanging off the bike like Oreo and all the other fast guys i've been on a couple rides with. They make me feel like a newb and i'm going 15-20 mi over the speed limit and I cant even see them anymore, then i'll ride with a newb and I feel like I can't go slow enough.
There is such a huge learning curve.
Wow...I am very surprised. One week you guys were tearing this kid apart the other week you guys are giving him riding advice and welcoming him to trackday. Well done.
See what happens when you stop being an annoying douche?
JK.... he's still an annoying douche![]()

jcrawford, when people talk about leaning in reference to a motorcycle, they mean leaning to the side...off the bike, not leaning forward over the tank. Just want to make the clear because thats how i read your understanding of it. Now, better feel and cornering of the bike is a neutrally seated position most of the time. Having said that, in aggressive riding Ive got my balls virtually under the paint on the tank, thats how close I sit. (Might help that Im Irish) You dont wanna be seated way back leaned over the tank. Up on the tank, head turned into the direction of the corner, countersteer....and you'll look and feel like a million bucks. At a trackday and the lean angle increases with increased speed, your head turn will be greater and you'll be pointing your weiner into the turn as well.
yep I know what they mean by leaning been watching some MotoGP
you took my understanding above incorrectly.
About the Track Days. No one has answered if they allow spectators, etc. I would love to bring the kid to one of these but don't want to make the trip if spectators are not allowed on Track Days.
Yes, you can get into a td, the kid too.
