Anyone have any experience with these chines knock off fairings for like 500 bucks?

I talked to him already. The company he used doesn't make them for a 2001 R6.
I already tried Delvick

Not sure which vendor you're specifically looking at, but Nice Cycle fairings have been recommended by a few moto publications as an alternative to the cheap knock-offs. They're a little more than $500 (your application is $789).

As far as the cheap ebay ones from Hong Kong, all I've ever heard is "stay away."
I bought a set before...I suppose that I would've preferred to purchase a used set of OEM instead. Trouble is, it takes a long time to receive your fairings and fit might not be perfect. It all depends on your tolerance for shipping and fit.
A buddy of mine went that route after laying down his 05 GSXR. Said it was a bit of a bitch getting them on but they look decent. And they're obviously a bit thinner than OEM.
Ask pigman. I think he has them on his gixxxah
my brother just bought a set for the 03 600rr that I sold him. I'll let you know in a few weeks when we put them on how it goes.
other than that, the finish seems to be fine. Just don't know on the fit.
I bought a corona set from http://gsxrfairings.com/. Was easy to put on. Finish looks good. Service was good. Dealt with folks here in the states.
i think it was auctmarts or something like that. I tried pulling up the link but it wasn't bringing up the auction. He got the fairings for a 03 600rr. Repsol edition ones in white/gray.
best guess at who he bought them from. took like 3 weeks to get them too.
