Neither.
I'd go for the Yamaha because I won't have to check my valve clearance after every ride.

As uch as I love Ducatis, I have to say, I'd go for that Aprilia.
Very different bikes. Aprilia was way more expensive new for the factory model and has a more powerful engine. It is more on the level of the streetfighter in performance. The monster is much lighter and less powerful, but has plenty of torque. The monster would likely be more reliable. I had the option of buying an 07 Tuono and chose an 09 696 which I really like. Good luck with your choices!
Tuono factory, Rocks. All all day comfortable and is way more trick. Of course I am biased. Monster versus Factory T, no contest.
my issue isnt which bike to get..... i just picked up the Tuono yesterday and now i'm trying to figure out which bike to keep and which one to get rid of.

Tuono. stronger engine, better ergos, better suspension, (all subjective). And maintenance on an Aprilia is typically less.
Aprilia. No way any duc is going to be as reliable as an aprilia with a rotax engine.
Wow...if I had both and the opportunity to ride both often, I'd have no trouble deciding which to keep. It would be the one that made me smile the most when riding and not the one that gave me a boner looking at it. And if the same bike did both, thats a no brainer!
