Interesting, I always thought that cotton was softer than plastic and that the only reason your shirt would scratch would be because of dust on your shirt. Need to look into that one... I agree though that microfiber works well.

I think they say it because of contaminants being on your shirt, dust, maybe some dirt and even the stitching can all scratch. I can deal with scratched up glasses because most of the time you can look past them since them since they are so close to your eyes. Scratches on your face shield are harder to look past because its not as close to your eyes.





and one more thing. If you have a mirrored Suomy shield a wet paper towel will take the mirror coating off. I was pissed a few years ago when that happened to me. ended up just cleaning it all off giving me a light smoke shield. Plexus on the current one hasn't harmed it at all.

Meguiars or Mothers detail wax and a microfiber towel is the best and safest cleaner I've used. Plexus/Honda shine sucks, it leaves a film.

And if you use anything other than a microfiber towel you will scratch your shield!
