Meggy B's first bike!

So... I got meg to come to 7 of 8 race weekends, and take pics for all of us... now I'm going to get her on the road...

I'm picking up a 1980 Kawasaki KZ440 tonight, it's in fairly good shape for a 30 year old bike, and wants to run with a little maintenance.

not sure how modded I'll go, but i will post a project progress thread once I get it home

right now, I'm thinking of restoring it in stock form, with a nice beach-cruiser theme. Ivory paint, with some "woody" paint down the middle. powder coat the frame and forks, re-chine all the chrome bling (not sure if I'm going to leave the fenders original chrome or paint them yet).

I would like to pick up another (maybe a little bigger), and go cafe-racer/bobber style for myself... but meg put up with racing all season, so I figured my first couple off-season months in the garage will go to something nice for her

well.. funny story.

I went to clean the garage to make room and take some nice pics...

... That lead to me throwing up a "shed in a box" outside my garage, with a wooden floor (to serve for snowblower/lawnmower/pitquad storage)...

... That lead to my cutting down a dozen low branches from my neighbors evergreen that hangs on the garage/shed once snow falls...

...That lead to me painting the garage to match the house...

...That lead to me finding some rotting wood and replacing it with pressure treated wood...

...now the trim on the house doesn't match the trim on the garage, so the house is getting a refresh...

But yea, I'll get pics haha.



Diva (my husky/shep mix) is ok, but has a shipped bone in her left front leg... so good thing I took her to get xrays (the doc talked about how expensive his new digital xray machine was, so i knew I was gettign raped), got her on some antibiotics and pain killers.

Hope your dog heals up.... but aren't chipped bones just kinda left alone? Or will they go in and pull out the chip?

yea, no splint because it was too swollen, but she has expensive antibiotics, pain killers, and xrays on some digital xray machine.
