Went last night. Pretty happy! The bike didn't let me down. My best was 10.82 @ 130.71mph. 1/8 mile was 7.107 @ 106.42. My 60' times suck, 1.883. When I don't have my thumb up my arse, I usually get low 1.8s with an occasional 1.79 as a teaser. No drag related chassis changes. So more practice, a Barnett clutch {better feel, I think}, maybe some other stuff down the road. Just having fun!
My old 86 GSXR750/883 with a bunch of typical gixxer mods. Certainly nothing like the newer big blocks. I get to watch lots of tail lights grow smalller. Ha, Ha.
you don't happen to know another guy who runs an old gixxer up there do you? he's really cool.. forget his name but did some paintball with him at a bachelor party. he's pretty into it and does a lot of bracket racing. he kinda looks like a biker, about 5'5".
No, but sounds like he might be someone I might like to get to know. You know what is a hoot? In five years, I can put "antique" plates on the old girl. Ha, Ha!
I have not been there in the longest time.

Damnit! Now I have the urge to go racing again. If I could figure out how to keep the front end on the ground I could do so much better. I got better times without a burnout because it let the rear slide a little more. It still wheelied, just not as severely.
You should post up when you are going because there are a number here including myself that would join you.

think your EX would just need a tail light rigged up.

If you are fortunate to have a strip near by, you can do what you want. It is relatively cheap fun. Well, not anything you want. They really frown on those 1/4 mile wheelies, on street night. Starts, times, trap speeds,,enjoy.
With an EX I'm pretty sure you could practice your starts in a parking lot. Probably a small one at that.Originally posted by daviid
