Hoping to go and run the old Gixxer tonight. Not looking good weather wise. If it clears up, and any of you folks are up there, look for the plates with TMB on them.
Hahaha.. I so want to go. But I have to be in Downtown boston at 7AM tomorrow morning..
Coming home from MM last night my roommate and I had a kid keep egging us on with his Dodge SRT-4 and we finally had to put the smack down... made me want to go to the drag strip as my launch was horrible though still plenty to embarass him by the time I got up to the speed limit.
What times NEdragway open and close? Street night so we don't need to do anything to the bikes right? Full leathers, or jacket/gloves/helmet?
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
depends on your bike, if it's slow, or notOriginally posted by hessogood

I don't remember the breakoff point in et or top speed, but you may need a teather to your kill switch

Well, I went last night. It was a bit cool. I was the only bike for a while, until a young lady named Keely showed up with her drag prepped Yamaha 550 Maxim. For me, it was a comedy of errors. It is the first time I've been at the drags with this bike in eight years. Man, I was having a hell of a time keeping the front end on the ground. I was used to my Barnett clutches' feel. This OEM clutch is a lot more vague feeling. My best was a 10.98 @ 127mph. The bike was running way lean for those conditions. Lots of tinkering to come. But It felt real good to get out there and flog myself and the bike.
My goals if I get the motor jetted right, are to get some 10.6s with a 130+ trap speed. I know she has it in her.

Bummer I wanted to take my race bike to the track just to practice my starts. It wouldn't be very fast (63 hp) but it certainly would help dial in my technique.

Hey Brewmaster. Go to newenglanddragway.com, click on "2006 schedule" then any highlighted "test session". That ought to do the trick, when you aren't planning on being up at NHIS.
i brought my race bike there last year and all you need is to put some kind of taillight on it and you can run it there. if youve got to run slicks then you have to go to a "test session" but otherwise your bike should MORE than pass inspection. i would put a kickstand on too if you can. i will next timeOriginally posted by brewmaster
