Swapped as many parts as possible to the new frame and buttoned up the right side of the case. I somehow destroyed the main seal on the left side while putting on the primary drive so that won't get done until next weekend. I brought the top end with me to my apartment for further inspection. I most likely will be keeping the head as is. If the valve seats don't look as good as they should I probably will lap in the current valves and deal with it after the race weekend. Need to order piston today along with a few other parts. The cylinder looks spotless but im debating whether or not I should just order a new one since they're so cheap and I've replaced everything else at this point...
And my trailer surprisingly looks great!
Overall a decently productive Sunday.

Cheap Cylinder? Where ?

$240.
I guess "cheap" is all relative, but when you look at what I've spent so far, it isn't a huge amount. Plus, I have a very good deal worked out with my local shop so I bet It'll be right around the $200 mark.
I mean, the thing looks absolutely spotless, part of me says just run what I got, part of me says replace it since I've done everything else.
In the process of writing this post I just talked to the guy at my honda shop and he said just piston and rings and call it done...

clean/condition your gear.

Find someone with a good boregauge and have them check your cylinder. If it's in spec, run it. You'll want to have your piston on hand for this.
On my front, life is doing it's damnedest to keep me from the track. I did manage to redo the fuel plumbing to how I want it, air filter frame is in place, carbs are tightened down so that area of work is done. Suspension is back from Mr Kates with proper springs so that has to get put back on, then mount the bodywork and test the fuel system and the bike will be good to go. (I should set my sag too but that'll likely get done at the track if I can find some help.) Goal now is to get everything but the bodywork done so I can wheel it out of the basement this weekend.
Yup. Washed my leathers this weekend. Hopefully they'll be dry before next weekend...
The SV is good to go. All that's left for the Hawk is to add fuel and fire it up (fingers crossed). Oh, and take some photos of the repaint before it gets "scuffed" again...
The trailer needs a couple hours of attention but then I'm good to go!

if they don't stink then you don't have to rush to do this before the season. I just scrubbed the outside of mine to get the grime off. and I always put the suit on the hangair when I'm not wearing it at the track. and I never stuff them in a gear bag. mine have never stunk.

can't remember, is engine ice lrrs legal?
LRRS #313
Just run water and some water wetter. Much cheaper.
Rulebook says:
19.10 Liquid cooled engines and their radiators must be
flushed. Only water or an approved cooling system
additive may be used. The use of anti-freeze is subject to a
$50 fine. A list of approved additives is available at Tech.
Inspection.

When they said additive I think water wetter. Engine ice really isn't an additive. It is a whole replacement for the fluid. That's how i interpret it anyways.

And you really don't want to be the guy that delayed racing an hour because you spilled coolant all over the track.

Engine Ice is NOT LRRS legal. Water Wetter and Maxima Cool-Aide are LRRS approved.
I'm quite sure it's legal, just can't remember where I read it. I've been using it for a season now.

I can assure you, Engine Ice is NOT LRRS legal, I just went through verifying this myself. Engine Ice is just a glorified standard antifreeze, aka slippery as all hell, hence why LRRS doesn't allow it. CCS allows it as they are a main sponsor, so if you want to attend other CCS races feel free to run it, just not at LRRS events.
Water wetter it is! Thanks.

If you want to go maximum lazy, Maxima Cool-Aide is also available in pre-mixed form rather than as a concentrate. No measuring, etc, just pour and go.
