posted this on ducatimonsterforum but i figured id post it here happened in andover nh i think on flaghole rd.
went down pretty hard today, was back road riding on a n unfamiliar road and the road opened up into a great strait and so i hammered it up to about 80-90 mph, corner comes out of nowhere and its was really tight. i locked up the rear and went off into some grass (luckily). almost kept it up but the front wheel tucked and i went down on my left side, bent my left bar and pushed it into the side of the tank leaving a small dent, also rashed up my front signal, mirror and brake fluid reservoir, also my slip on got a couple of scratches. the only damage to me is my shin is scraped up from my leg getting caught on my right handlebar. i immediately got up and took off. returned to the scene to inspect what happened. found i loked it up about 50 feet before i hit the grass then another 50feet through the grass and about 10 feet where the bike slid. I know what i did wrong....speeding on unknown road+target fixation+locking up the rear = crash! in my defense there were no sign warning of the upcoming corner. also about 10 feet at the end of the corner there was a stop sign that i wouldnt of had time to stop for so i guess i kind of got lucky to crash on the corner and not out into traffic and hit cars. im glad not much damage to me or my bike and was able to ride home and straighten my bar when i got back. was also glad to be wearing full gear except for wearing regular jeans.
Oh man! Sorry to hear about the crash, but as long you walked away it's good!
Uhg. Bummer dude. Glad ya walked away from it though.
Next time squeeeeeze that front brake!

If your gonna do 80 or 90 On public roads you should probably learn how to ride a motorcycle first.
Glad your Ok

Oh man! I did this once 'cept it was over a hill. Came barrelling down this road, up and over the hill and BAM! Stop sign. Leaned on both brakes hard but it did not matter. Ended up deciding to just hit the gas again.
No preaching from me because I agree with what's already been said.
Glad you're okay.
no parts needed. just rashed on some parts and bent bars, was able to straighten the bars out by hand. my napoleon mirror somehow survived being buried in the dirt....
I've always wondered what stories those thin black lock up's could tell. Found one on a tight corner in Brookefield, and itstopped at the stone wall. Go figure!

not the riding part that was the problem, i agree i should have scouted out the road a bit before i opened it up, but no matter how experienced you are shit happens. can everyone here say that they dont speed? i think not, next time you crash i will make a smart ass comment and then say glad your okay....![]()
The Squirrel in black does not crash so don't hold your breath.
So were you not paying attention to the road ahead of you to miss the turn, or was it hidden somehow?

i was paying attention but the road just looked straight by the time i got to the corner and realized what was going to happen i could tell i wasnt going to make it, the person i was riding with also said that they could not see the turn coming up and only avoided crashing cause he saw my brake light come on and smoke coming out from the rear tire. ill have to back and look again but yeah i dint know why i couldnt see it...
Yeah... Been there done that... And it was on a road I knew!
Lesson learned, though... I've slowed down (well... in theory), pay more attention & leave more room for error.

i dont wish for anyone to crash, but if they did i would keep my comments to either genuine wishes of well being, or not say anything at all if i thought they were being stupid, why give someone shit if they already knew they fucked up...
and yup i fucked up either way, wont stop me from speeding. I dont find it fun to go 35 on a bike when there is a mile of straight road in front of me, the only thing im getting out of this crash is to know the road before you tear it up...
Welcome to teh intarwebs. Dont let it get to ya.

yeah i read it, but im more of a hands on type of learner i guess....
Well at the very least you wear full gear. That's a lot more than most sport bike riders wear (me included).
