honestly i walked away with just a scrape, it was kind of fun actually a quick shot of adrenaline, a laugh after the fact, and a lesson in not freaking out...not to mention all the kind words of advise from your peers.

its a good lesson Prepare to be surprised. All things considered your reaction to the scene was maybe not the best but certainly not the worst. if you are able to pick the bike up and ride away you win.

For what it's worth, Dan, I agree with ya... but at the same time the guy knows what he did wrong. You don't have to sound cold to make a point that he already got.



Frankly, I think it's kinda ridiculous that every "I crashed... it sucked but I know what I did wrong" thread turns into a lecture. Sometimes I fall into that trap, but I try not to be cold about it.

Yeah, that's fair. I am a bit of a cold blooded bastard. It's easy to cross the line between helpful and preachy. On the bright side, at least I'm not Super Cold

yup you are 100% correct im a dick i really deserved it.. Now thats the real lesson learned .It could have been alot worse. I really dont care if i hurt myself but would be devastated if i hurt someone else acting like a retard.

not trying to defend myself for riding to fast near houses but honestly there are no houses on that road for miles... those three houses are at the very end of the road had there not been a turn there i would have slowed down and was in the process of slowing down as soon as i saw that it opened up to a more populated area, like i said i dont ride to put anyone else in danger but myself, but riding like i was could have hurt someone else and i dont want that.

I'll say it. Yeah, that road's definitely deceiving. It looks like it just continues going straight. I wonder (as I sit on my couch with plenty of time to think about it), what would have happened if you just powered straight through the grass and onto the next road? I'm sure your buddy behind you wouldn't have appreciated it.

Yeah. From this angle on the internetz it looks like you came up on the houses way before the turn. First site of those houses, especially that first one with shit in the yard (is that a sled?!?), and I'd have been reaching for the right lever. But what the hell do I know. Your justifications are just proving that you need to think a bit more while on the road.

"No one was on the road... it was 6am." Sure is a lot of wildlife around that part of NH at 6am.

"No houses for miles on that road" So when you start seeing them that a clue something is about to change.

not looking for sympathy or to get a lecture, just thought i would share something with other people on a forum that lets you share experiences with others. same reason people post what they had for dinner or what their favorite song is. now im trying to figure out why would one be reading a post titled my first crash unless you were going to show sympathy or flame them.
