Jane pulled out of a driveway without looking. John could have avoided it if he was doing the SL... this is one of those rare instances where I agree that "speed was a contributing factor to the crash". However, had Jane been paying attention, it wouldn't have happened. Having been there I still think John fucked up, but so did Jane. still, if John were riding the SL and doing what he should have been doing he probably would have avoided the crash. John hit Jane on the front wheel, handful of brakes having been grabbed. If he were going slower, that likely would have been enough. FWIW this issue is old, settled, and moved on from. I'm just curious how people would interpret it.
Thanks,
John

"fuckit!"
it had to be old because traffic rules weren't invented yesterday. how does it settle? it doesn't really matter. it's whatever the insurance ahve to say. if john has right of way then Jane is at fault. if can prove john is speeding then both are at fault probly. question is even if you are right, do you want to hit jane on your motorcycle.

Back to the original question? I use this trick while racing all the time. Say going into T9(turn nine) I will steer straight ahead. Then when I start to go off the pavement I make a sharp left hand turn. ZOOM! I watch in my mirror as the idiot following me flies of the hill into a pile of railroad ties. Another trick I have used is to mount a windshield washer system under my seat cowl filled with "SLICK40". Press of the button and KABOOM. Sometimes I am the only one to finish a race. I get all the plaques then.
