    Cycles128 becoming Ducati dealer

Looks like Eastern Cycle sold their Ducati franchise to Cycles.

I'm going to miss the small shop feel.

Not that it's a bad thing. I've been dealing with the parts people for my track SV. Been very good so far.

Never had a good experience with Cycles. Gave them several different chances every time left annoyed.

+1 I had a guy there forge my signature on some loan paperwork when I bought my KTM in 2003. It was just something he forgot to have me sign when I was in there, and he was just trying to save me the trip down there, but I thought it was pretty fucked-up to forge my signature without even asking if I was cool with it. His name was Paul, pretty sure he was the sales manager.

Ouch. They're on the hook for triple damages when they do that in MA if it's loan papers.

    Re: Cycles128 becoming Ducati dealer

I walked in there in 2007 and asked about buying a V-Strom.

Summary: "they don't order them the other two stores in their chain don't either they suggested a BMW F800GS which they don't sell and weren't interested in ordering one." One of the most effective "sales prevention teams" I've ever seen. And I was talking to the manager!

Didn't think it was possible to have a pre-sales experience worse than an auto dealer, but they proved me wrong. Bought a used 05 private sale and a new 09 DL650A from Naults in Manchester NH. I occasionally buy parts and accessories from them because they are the closest dealer to my office, but Oneida Suzuki has more in stock and the delivered prices seem to be about the same.

Apparently Im the only one with a good sales experience, course, I dealt with a NESRian, so that was nice. Too bad he left there.
Parts, not so much. Didnt even have brake pads for a current model bike in stock. Took like 3+ weeks to get them in.

I've had good luck in C128's parts department for odd bits, and I bought my Arai there. Their motorcycles, however, are laughably overpriced in my opinion. I paid something like ~7k for my old R6 brand new. A few days later, I rode to Cycles and they had one for something like $6800 with 5k miles on it that had been down on one side.

I wanted an OEM replacement key cfor my 05 V-Strom. Call them up: "Do you have OEM blanks?" Yes.

Ride up there, give them the key, they charge me $11 for the same aftermarket blank Broadway Lock charges $5 for. I was speechless.

I bought my 750 there and never had a problem but I've never used them for service or parts.

Ducati service is very different than run of the mill bike stuff. I do not see this as a recipie for anything other than extreme frustration for duc owners who attempt to deal with them.

Tried to charge me 500 for a chain and sprocket job! also bought a bike from them and had to bring it back 4 times before they figured out the the regulator/rectifier was shot. this was after the "100 point inspection" they do on all their bikes! have not been back since.

    Re: Cycles128 becoming Ducati dealer

Honestly you would think Ducati would have some restrictions on who could be a dealer.... Most of the ducati shops I know in the area are stand up places - Eastern, Riverside, Seacoast etc.

Ducati owners are generally pains in the asses x100, they will eat this place alive if they don't get it together fast.

I dont know to much about cycles 128 except they have the mini motard track. Best cycles in nashua is a joke.
I like seacoast except when i bought my pilot pures tires this past summer, the next week they sold them for near half the price i paid. but if i ever want to buy an RSV4 they would get my business haha.

WTF? I've been away 5 days and Eastern is closing? Wow. I've known those guys for years...bought a couple of bikes there. Good people. Become friends with Gido (ducati/mv mechanic at Eastern). I suspect that he will be able to parle this into his own ducati repair/mod/service shop. Hopefully, it will be good for him. I would never take my Duc to Cycles 128.
