I have a chance to get a brand new pair of EBC Contour rotors for Annalisa's CBR900RR.
I'm looking to replace the Galfer waves that I got off of fleaBay a couple years ago, because they're warped and cause a pulsing. I figured that since I have a new set of pads to go onto her bike over the winter, I may as well do everything.
Someone on one of the RR forums is selling a brand new set for $250, which is what a single rotor cost.
Anyone have any info on these? Good? Bad? Bueller?
I've got a couple for my GS500E. Seemed to work real well, the EX500 guys are reporting that those in combination with the new EPFA pads are providing excellent stopping power and unlike the prior EBC rotor/pad combo are pretty damn warp resistant. The buttons do not 'spin' like you'd expect, and that's intentional. You also can't really 'feel' the float in the rotor with your hands given how tight they run the buttons, but you can't argue with no warping or pulsing, right?
ANd for $250 for a brand new set, I just may go for it.
Since they're for Annalisa's bike, and she's not the type who feel every little detail while riding, they may be perfect.
Oh, and they're not the gold-centered rotors, they're the Pro-lite polished aluminum, so, she gets some bling factor.

Buy em.
I'd say they're better than stock. And the price is right.

she'll never use all the braking power...
I'm really hard on the brakes, don't you remember how I always passed you?The experts actually tell me I'm too hard on the brakes and should go easier, which I want to work on this year
If they need to be replaced anyway I'd go for it.
Yeah, $250 for a PAIR is cheaper than retail on ONE rotor, if you have a reason to be shopping I can't see how you'd justify passing that up.
Thanks for all the input. I ended up grabbing them. He lives in NH, so they'll be here by this weekend.
I was getting worried about the pulsing. It was fine while I was riding the bike, but I wasn't so sure now that it's her ride.
You'll never use all that power.
