this would also have to be extended to abolish Saint Patrick's Day, re-zoning of the north end of boston, the end of Columbus Day and Thanksgiving, the closing of plymouth plantation, and the killing of every major holiday tied with religion due to their racist or otherwise exclusionary practices. all in favor?
Given the leaps this country has made in progress towards equality, I would say that there is equal opportunity for the equally qualified. There are a few people on this board that in their lifetime there was open segregation. Some of our history may still sting in the people that have experienced it, but things have changed quite a bit.
sure safe the dog.
"all white people must report to the cotton field for orientation..." -thanks for the forward.![]()
"fuckit!"
It has nothing to do with anyone getting elected to any office. You can't say that just because 1 person was elected to office, things are equal.
The first black congressman was elected in 1928. Things certainly weren't equal then and they aren't now. You live in New England. Go to Texas or really anywhere south of the Mason/Dixon and its a much different story.

moot point. he was elected, therefore he is the president elect.
unless he ceases to live before january 20th, he will receive all the power of the office.
and the point is not whether or not he has the power, but the fact that he was elected.
i should move to a red state.. i'm tired of feeling like the odd man out..

Where, you meen like Virginia, North Carolina, Florida...Go to Texas or really anywhere south of the Mason/Dixon and its a much different story.
all of these are typicly Republican states. If there was wide spread racism, why didn't McCain win over any Democrate states? It's over. It has been over for a while now.
wow...now you are just following old stereotypes...how much time have you spend below the mason dixon line? After living there for almost 5 years and the rest of my life in NE i can tell you 1 thing for sure...the racism is FAR worse in new england. i use 2 measures to back up my reasoning, the loval governement and what i call "wink wink nudge nudge" conversations. take a look at the local governments...far more diverse in the south... the "wink wink nudge nudge" conversations where people of the same race talk shit about another race...this is the most sickening and telling if you ask me. I didn't notice this as much until i moved back and am still shocked at what i here from people who claim they arent racists. And after all that, I still say without a shred of doubt we are not a racist society.....does a poor black kid need to work harder then a rich white kid in a good family to get ahead? yup...but the same is true for that poor white trailer park kid vs. the rich black kid from a good family... you can plug in any race or color into that equation and get teh same result..it's all about money and the good ole boy network...life sucks but thats the truth
but sure keep up the white guilt ..keep beating the drum to the same old tune jackson and sharpton play...someone needs to pay for their custom tailored sutis, limo's and private jets....
the only race problem we have in this country is people not moving forward and accepting 2 things
1. - EVERYONE is racial...it is human nature get over it. How you let those "racial" feelings control your actions decides whether you are a racists or not. as a country..we are NOT!
2. - the supposed "race" problem we have in this country is a farse..it is a class problem. the poor stay poor and the rich get richer. There are no white activists like jackson/sharpton running around trailer parks in middle america crying about the plights of the poor white trailer trash so people often forget about them.

A man with a gun is a citizen
A man without a gun is a subject LETS GO BRANDON
holy crap you are thick
POINT:
- he was elected
- unless he dies, he will be the president on Jan 20(or so)
- these two points are evidence to the afore mentioned fact that apparently anyone can achieve the highest office in the land
- hence, any racially biased organizations are not 'equalizers' anymore, they are offering an unbalancing effect of an upper hand to persons of one race
- therefore, they are blatantly racist
