I would normally agree... But then Denno might post a thread about how big of a fag I was being. And we can't have that, now can we?
(mostly because we all know that Jim is the big fag)
Wrong...
It can be done easily in an empty parking lot. At under 25 mph...

I gotta say it - Mr. Bread was rippin' it up. Literally and figuratively. It was a pleasure to be riding with him. We were all riding to our abilities - I didn't hear of any overshot corners or stupid shit. The road we were riding on doesn't have any driveways entering from the sides. It's clean, fairly fresh pavement with predictable corners. I'm more than a little jealous that he was able to dip his knees down to the pavement. There wasn't anything on those pants that couldn't be patched. Maybe a couple of NESR stickers smacked over the holes will carry him through the rest of the season... Not too likely the way he was riding though.
I wont chime in on the dragging knee on public streets, cause hey, I've been there. But to TRY to get your knee down with no knee protection? Are you fucking retarded? I will pick my knee up MORE when Im cruising for the fear of getting my knee down.
Public roads Blah blah Blah, I agree with them but whatever, The Important tid bit of info is. When you knee touches down on Pavment without a puck Sometimes and quite frequently the pants catch on the asphalt It will drag your leg right of the footpeg. And you will crash. and it will suck.
But congrats on the Knee down enjoy but please get the right gear and have fun.![]()

Yep. That pavement is awesome. Have you ever noticed how it sparkles in the sunlight? I think that's ground glass -- I know they put that in the sidewalks in NYC to make the concrete grippier, and obviously the same principles would apply to asphalt.
The only time I've ever felt a tire slide on T*** Rd was on my V-Strom when I leaned it over enough to run out of tread on the rear tire. Luckily it just slid a little and then regained traction.
Congrats on the accomplishment, Mike. If there's any public road that's relatively safe for knee dragging, T*** Rd is it. But definitely get yourself a set of leathers with pucks!

Thanks for the congrats and the insults.
I'm Ordering a suit w/ pucks , boots w/ sliders, back+ chest protector, and a new helmet (sick of the hjc). I'll also be signing up for a few track days this fall.
2 years ago when i was stupid(still a little) i was all about getting my knee down. I just wanted a little tap, but couldnt do it for anything. One day i was i like fuc* grow some balls.. well i did and jammed my knee into the ground so hard went through my jeans, skin, pretty much down to bone. my leg was gushin blood all the way home. I now wear leathers and pucks but tend to suck my knee up close to the bike cause of that.
so dont even try without the right gear!
chuck, this how you do it. looks way cool.
you have long legs

You know... I don't move at all on my seat, but I think I've reached the limits of how far I can go without learning. I've scraped peg feelers multiple times in the last few weeks. Definietly doing a few 2-days in the spring.
