The only way the author could have sounded more ignorant would have been if he wrote this:

"At first, the buzzing of an approaching high-speed motorcycle sounds like a gnat near your ear, then it suddenly becomes loud and threatening. Segui remembers a 75 year old woman possibly of an oriental backround driving without her glasses, while talking on a cellphone who heard that noise and jerked her steering wheel in the opposite direction, jumping a curb and crashing."

Re: Not the Kind of Exposure Sport Bikes Need...

As if rules-averse Florida didn't already have some of the nation's most dangerous drivers — more pedestrians are killed there each year than in any other state — now it's dealing with the rising popularity of Mad Max–like high-speed motorcycles.
    1) yes, that's because the mean driving age in florida is like 950934 years old...

    2) mad max is the best analogy you can come up with? honestly, what the fuck, how old are you -- you're probably one of the miserable drivers populating the streets and turning them into deathtraps.

The rogue bikes are a particular bane in South Florida, where the weather is warm year-round and many of the roads are so flat and straightaway that they can easily be turned into a racetrack.
    3) uhhhhhhhhhhhhh, isn't it warm pretty much everywhere, year-round in florida?

    4) using straightaway as an adjective is fucking amateur. say "straight," you talentless hack.

the comments are pretty scathing, as well.

Re: Not the Kind of Exposure Sport Bikes Need...

We can make jokes and laugh about this and think the writer is a cunt (which he is) but the fact is most people that don't know about bikes, especially sport bikes think that we are a menace because of the way people ride these bikes. And if you think we're helping you're probably wrong. People don't see a guy in full gear going 80 on a back road, nor do they see a guy in shorts and a t-shirt going 80 on a back road, they see a "crotch rocket" going 80 on a backroad.

there it is. if you think racing stripes add HP, just wait till you dyno a set of race leathers. if anything, we probably look like we're going faster with full race gear. seems to be working for pete.

I think this is bullshit for the sheer fact they kept calling em "crotch rockets" that term alone is disrespectful and racist. I much rather the term "dick missile" is the more appropriate vernacular.
