Nice! Which shop? Be aware that, from what I have read on Stromtrooper - the 650 is supposed to be delivered with *2* windscreens - the stock one, and the Vario screen. I only received the Vario screen. You should also get a little package of sticky pads for shimming the latches on the boxes, and a German wax product.
Also, on the 650 - a 16T GSXR counter shaft sprocket will correct the absurd stock speedometer error (8-9%!), but make your mileage and MPG read low. Jumping out the clutch switch will make the FI light come on in a few miles. The high beam indicator is a bit blinding at night, so folks use a hole punch to punch out a spot of electrical tape to cover it up. The ABS light is always on when you first start the bike, until you start moving. The headlights will need to be adjusted pretty far downward, as the come delivered pointing at the moon. There are 2 small 8mm hex head bolts behind the headlights, near the center of the fairing to adjust them. Clockwise brings them down. The seat on the 1000 is better than the seat on the new 650. Most folks want bar risers. I used Rox 2" risers, but ran into tight throttle cables and brake lines. I cut 3/4" off each end of the bars, and everything worked out fine. Other folks either had no problems, or did other things (re-routing, buying longer brake lines from SV-racing, etc.).

if its really free for 60 months, you can put your payments into a interest bearing savings account (if there is such a think anymore ) and pay back the lump sum on the 60th month,
$516 is $516, you could put the money is a retirement IRA, for a young person that isn't retiring for 40 years, that $516 cold easily grow to $10k
so look at it as a free bike

That is what I would have guessed. The guys on Stromtrooper were adamant about the 2 screen thing - but I only received one as well. I ended up buying the OEM top case, when I bought my bike. It is nice to store your helmet in, but it makes mounting and dismounting the bike kind of a PITA. Robin is still searching for an appropriate back rest cushion...
I am still looking for a skid plate/belly pan. The OEM plastic shell looks the best, but offers the least real protection. Some of the aftermarket plates have highway peg mounting options, which I find appealing.
Re: Highway pegs
Meh. Get some crash guards. These should be mandatory anyway for all kinds of reasons. Just hook your heels up on the edge of the guards while on the slab. Lets you lean back just a bit and stretch your legs.
For a different position, pop your feet up on the backsides of the guards and scrunch your legs like you are squating. Works great with my Givi guards on my '11.
yeh I will be shopping for leahs bike to get some thing to protect the oil filter from flying gravel ,
I have highway pegs on the klr and love them . I have only put a couple hundred miles on the strom and I am already shopping for highway pegs of some sort for it . along with a taller wind screen , or a lip for the stock one. Story of my life, if I only had 3 more inches .

After a bunch of research, I bought the tallest Parabellum screen that I could get. It works out to be just about right for me. I can see over the top of it, yet it blocks most of the wind. I am still thinking about hand making some "wings", and maybe an adjustable lip.
