fzr600 -> ?

are there any other bikes that make 70-80hp, can pickup for around a grand, and have it last 40k+ miles of riding with oil changes/brakes/tires/chain/clutch/voltage regulator? I'm spoiled with the power the FZR makes...I can't do a ninja 250/300 anymore

my FZR600 fit the top above criteria, is 18 years old and still ticking...but I'm not 100% sure she'll keep going...I only did aforementioned maintenance.

so...another FZR? swap the motor if it ever poops out? or price, power, reliability - pick 2?

The YZF600R is the evolution of the FZR600R. It's the same basic motor with an improved head, shorter stroke, bigger bore so it can twist further resulting in more peak HP on top while still maintaining a proper midrange. It also takes modern rubber.

If you wanna stretch the budget a bit you could land on an decent Gen1 FZ1 (2003-ish). Minus the price point, it covers all of your other requirements and then some.

I'm liking the idea of a yzf...something about Yamaha has my trust...maybe an F2 if it's not too ragged out...seems like they hold their value well...garrett - let me know if you find any (including fzr6's) in your buy/sell searches
