Ok, I'm back in the game! Picked up an '82 KDX 80 on Tuesday night. It doesn't run, may need a clutch and top end, but it does shift. Also, only $200 with a spare set of wheels!

so I rode a chinese 125/front facing engine w' tiny (12"?) wheels and it had pretty good power for a mini...2nd gear roll on power up wheelies! super sketchy, be careful!
also crf50's are waaaay overpriced...anyone know which years the XR50's had changes?

interesting, ha...some guy in WA put together this bike...KX250F modified into a road racer!
cbr rims, tzr bodywork, zx6r forks, kx250f stroked shock, built motor, woodcraft clip ons, gp shift
sounds like too many things could've been hacked together to be safe to run, but I like MX motors in any kind of bike...they are made super high performance and are super tons of fun to ride (if you can afford the expense)
Most mini's are just MX bikes anyways

I know the '03 was a 4-speed with way too much power for its own good on the MX track...I can imagine a 5-speed with tractable power would be better

It's built around a 05 or newer machine, uses the stock aluminum frame. Dunno the exact year though.

Ok then. Got the KX 65 running today after a carb clean. It's an '03 with about 2.7 hours on it, could eat your dinner off it. It is a fucking *BEAST* Absolutely no chill with that bike. I'll post a video tomorrow of a 65 vs KDX220 race around my back yard tomorrow. Must see TV.

Blew it up at Canaan in August and had it rebuilt, then got it home in February and ran for 30 seconds then died. I brought the motor back to the builder and the compression release fell and got wedged in the motor. Just got the motor back a few weeks ago and it's at the Dyno right now getting jetted.
What exactly happened at the 0:29 mark of the video?
By the way there is a Masters of Mini event coming up soon, May 6th. Wonder if the KX65 fits in there anywhere
