    Re: Grom build

Because of the engine build, it tends to stall when cold. One idea I had was bump the idle up to 1600-1700 RPM.

When doing that, I noticed the heat spacer between the throttle bodies and manifold was broken. It was bored out to match the ported manifold, but was too much and got too close to the wall where the o-ring is.

Ordered a new one from Koso Canada and tossed it in. Good to go now.

I change brake fluids on my bikes annually or sooner. I haven’t touched the rear brake fluid because it’s a huge pain to access the reservoir cup. Pretty much remove the entire side bodywork, including my aftermarket side fairings.

Ordered 8mm tygon tubing from Kurvey Girl, some hose clamps, and an OEM Honda breather cap.

Now it’s easy to change out the fluid.

thanks for the reminder. I'm still waiting to order the brembo calipers. I'm going to go with P32 as opposed to P34 calipers. Still waiting on DHM to develop a new cam for the NEO engine kits that should bump up the horsepower around 3x the stock engine using ethanol free pump gas.

Decided to drop a tooth in the rear sprocket to see if I get the bike around 95 MPH with my weight. It’s now +1/-1 gearing (16/33)

The aftermarket side fairings use machine screws which loosen up too much for my liking. To save some cars from flat tires, I converted this header fairing cover to Dzus clips from Kurvey Girl.

I saw that one, would be tempted if it was on this side of the country.
Only negative is that they used the 250 motor instead of the 300, so it’s ONLY got ~26hp instead of ~31hp

    Re: Grom build

i hate that i saw a slipper clutch for my bike over the weekend. replacing the calipers with Brembo P32 or P34 when the pads are worn. then will probably do the slipper clutch kit when i need to get in there for new clutch fibers.

black friday deals means more Grom goodies.
just ordered two Brembo P32 calipers in black. Chimera caliper front and rear adapter brackets, and two chimera banjo bolts.

i'm the 3rd owner. the motor build and labor was about the cost of a new Grom. everything on these bikes are fairly cheap. for example: the brembo calipers are $90. Ohlins fork internals are $275.

Thats actually not bad. Crazy that the prices are that low for a component that's the same but smaller.

    Re: Grom build

the P32 calipers i got are OEM rear calipers for a few Aprilla and Ducati models as well. so parts shouldnt be a challenge when i need to rebuild them with new pistons and seals

the only pricy items for Groms are:
    Ohlins shock ($550 range)
case cover that removes the oil spinner and adds an oil filter ($330 i think)
aRacer electronics ($1000 with autotuner, bluetooth, and cables)

everything else on these bikes is cheap. even OEM plastics from the dealer.

    Re: Grom build

Brembo calipers, chimera caliper brackets, and chimera banjo bolts have arrived. Went with P32 calipers for my RCS14 master. From what I’ve read, the P32 caliper pairs well with RCS14, and the P34 caliper matches with the RCS15 master cylinder.

Can’t remember which one, but i believe it’s the P32 is the OEM rear for aprillas and Ducatis. So it’s easy to get pistons and seals for a rebuild.

Sounds like your enjoying it regardless of cost, so

want some endo/brake stand vids once the new brakes are installed...
