Bikes I Wanna Try...

Still VERY up in the air about what my next ride will be. In order to make a really informed and correct decision FOR ME, I'll need some volunteers. There's a handful of bikes I REALLY wanna take for a short spin, if for nothing else but to see how I like 'em. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less. All that's required is you sacrifice your time and energy and come to me with it. Not all that hard to do, right? Okay then, the list starts...

RC51 - yes, an RC51. It's actually the bike I was gonna get in addition to my RF900. I wadded the RF and eventually got the TL-R...

SV1000 - Sticking with the V-twin vibe, but it's gotta be faired...

Various street-legal dirtbikes - 250's, 300's, 400', 450's...bring it. I'm leaning toward street legal but more dirt-oriented, and I'm only interested in 4-strokes...

Power cruisers - ya know, Yamaha Warrior-types. Damn, those things gimme wood...

VFR's - just because they're VFR's...

Not really interested in inline 4 sportbikes. Too dime-a-dozen...

Again, this burden will lay on you. Yes, you WILL bring these to me, one at a time and in a timely fashion. Me? I will wait for you to arrive. You'll hand me your keys without question and patiently await my return. I will take as long as I want and if I don't like it, I'm gonna verbally trash your bike. If your significant other is hot, you will bring her and leave her for the weekend. I refuse to reimburse you for any of this: no gas, no gas money, no 12-pack of your favorite suds. I will NOT share my tequila with you (okay, maybe just Jane and/or Spence) and you will not indulge in any libations. When our interaction is done, you'll tell me how nice it was to finally meet and you'll be on your way without an ounce of gratitude from me. You may pick up your hot significant other the following weekend...

If you fall for the VFR, I know a guy with a '93 that would probably hand over the pink slip for relatively short money. Haven't seen the bike, but best I can tell it is very clean.

No, duration of woman-keeping is certainly not negotiable. If YOU wanna ditch her, why would *I* wanna hang on to her?

I THINK a 500's gonna be too much bike for me if I go that route. But I'll have my quad out there this weekend. The Arctic Cat...and a trailer to haul wood...and my woodsplitter...and a cooler full o' beer...and hookers...apparently maybe your woman too...

I can't do this weekend due to a visit from my family so they can see their grand children but what are you up to next weekend? I think you'll be surprised how manageable the 500 is. It's only a smidge over 250lbs without fuel and is pretty docile if you can control your right wrist. I have it set up as a woods bike but it has the gearing and power to handle road duties as well. The suspension may be a little stiff for you though because I have it sprung for a 260lbs operator.

It most definitely isn't the fastest bike out there, but I don't care bout that shit. I've got about 33k miles of shit eating grin on mine so far and I don't plan on getting rid of it, ever. Add to it, sure, but it's a keeper. Fun factor = 10
