Another chapter in the "I Have too Much Time on My Hands, so I'll Build Something that Shouldn't Exist" book.
Sportrack LB12 Harley Davidson Supermotard - The Kneeslider
I'm..............speechless
that thing is awesome, it must sound like a beast going around the track

Wow, I was not expecting that. That guy did a FANTASTIC job on that.
Big thumbs up...
Wow that thing looks like a good time, the craftsmanship is excellent. That is 1 harley I would want to own
No, no, no. The thing that should REALLY not exist is this:
Tilting V-Max Trike by Tilting Motor Works - The Kneeslider
WTF?
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
i woulda used an s+s motor instead

Actually, it doesn't make the bike any easier for an idiot to ride. You still have to balance it, and it'll happily fall right over if you don't put a foot or side stand down at a stop. Where it's different is in questionable traction situations, like say, sand. Rather than a bit of sand causing your one front tire to slide out, you've got two contact patches and in theory are less likely to wash them both at the same time.
It needs the Desmoharley engine!

In the interest of clarity, I should say that while I think this idea is cool, you can't make a motard out of a tractor motor. They should have at least used a V-Rod motor, which is at least *sort of* designed with an eye towards performance. And even then, it would still be too heavy to be a motard.

When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

hogtard?
Not to put too fine a point on it, but thats the most ridiculous question I've ever read.
Not a chance. Its far too heavy to ever be a decent motard. Put a bone stock KTM 450 against it, which is less than 1/2 the size motor, and two comparable riders, and it wont even be close.im sure that harley has more then enough power to over come its "weight" issues, and with a skilled enough rider im sure its just as fast.
Again: If putting Harley motors on really light frames is your thing, then this is a cool bike. If you are at all interested in motards, and we're all defining motard the same way (dirt bike with road course tires for a lightweight track bike), this bike is a useless creation.
point is something doesnt need to be specifically engineered for "performance" in order for it to work well. look at the first drag cars and such. half the shit on those cars came of trucks and other vehicals that werent "designed" to go fast. how about the viper, their transmission came out of the 3/4 ton trucks.
I see what your saying in terms of weight when you made the ktm comparison. still looks like a fun ride, id flog it

This is true....hell, they raced lawn tractors on ESPN the other day.
I'm not saying I'd turn that bike down if someone brought it to Loudon and offered me a few laps. I just cant imagine putting that much time and money into something that wont do much of anything real well.![]()
yep to each their own. but i guess there are worse ways to spend your money
