Well i'll be picking up my new bike in 2 weeks and wanting to ride. But its still gonna be fuggin cold out. Will be doing some 40 degree days nothin below freezing Ice will riding doesnt sound fun
wondering if i could get some input on heated gear from those who have it
What brands would u recommend?
and do you think just the jacket and glove liners will do? I've heard as long as you keep your core toasty the legs and feet should be Ok

Duncan Moto.
I think Ted started carrying a new product for heated clothing, tho the name escapes me.
I personally use Gerbing's and find they work well.
DO IT!!!!
I have a Gerbring jacket and gloves - most times the jacket alone is just fine. Well worth the $ and being warm on a cold day almost feels like cheating.
The Gerbring setup was pretty $ but there are a number of other companies selling the stuff now too.
The Tour Master stuff that Duncan Moto has works great. I was riding in 36 degree weather with the Synergy heated vest and some heated grips and I was very comfortable.

Synergy proved to be the best value.
Gerbings is excellent, but pricey. First Gear is also excellent and similar to Gerbings.

Go look in the vendor forums under DuncanMoto or do a search on here for Synergy heated gear.
I have a Gerbings heated jacket liner. If you buy one and it doesn't fit perfect, you send it back and they modify it free of charge to fit you.
Works great, especially with the thermostat.

+1 on the Tourmaster Synergy heated gear. I just use the vest, and it keeps me nice and toasty even when it's 15 degrees out.

+1 for the Gerbings. Got it with the dual controller and its the tits. A friend has had his for about 8 years I believe and the wire in the sleeve broke at the connection. Sent it to Gerbings and they rewired the whole damn jacket, no charge. They stood behind their warranty.
I can't comment on the other brands but I haven't heard bad things really about any of them. Price may be the biggest factor.

"If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything."
I'd recommend installing heated grips before you buy heated gloves
advantage
1 cheaper
2 always on the bike, you find out that you use em on cool mornings in summer or sometimes when you get caught in the rain
the Synergy is probably the best buy unless you plan on doing more winter riding then the First Gear 90w jacket liner is better
don't be afraid to wear heavy insulated work/outdoor boots instead of bike specific boots
