So I have an AGV XR2, I love the helmet, there is only one problem.
It seems a little "deep", When I am trying to look up through a turn It ends up ALMOST covering my eyes.
It is a large. I tried the medium and that thing was WAY too tight.
I have resorted to folding up some papertowels and putting them in the top of the helmet. This works but I wonder if there is a better solution?
I have contacted AGV with no response. I plan on calling them.
Do you think If I got the Medium Top pad that it would be bigger and help?

they're correct. head shape has a lot to do with it. i went through 10 helmets before i found a brand that fit my head shape properly. it just happened to be the AGV's.

Are you admitting that you are on a race track or street without being able to see? Not the best information "to put out there"

That thing doesn't fit you bud i would have gotten another helmet,...If you really wanted that helmet maybe you could have gotten away with the Med and switched out the cheek pads for smaller ones. If you can't see that things gotta go.

Ok now guys calm down. I can see! And the helmet fits fine.
The only time I have a SLIGHT problem is when I am looking up,WAY UP. like coming outta 3 and trying to see 6. I can only see 4... I think I may just be looking too far because the back of the helmet in stopping against my neck.
I have never had this problem on the street. It is easily corrected with 1/4 inch of padding. That is why I am looking for a factory pad. I have heard you can get them.
I have tried other helmets, believe me. Shoei's are not my head shape. The Arai Quantum I had was ok, AGV's fit best.
Thanks Bob, If you can get me the number to an AGV rep that would be great.
And thanks for the concern guys.

I had EXACTLY the same problem with my AGV helmet.
I'd throw a piece of ensolite padding in there...
the kind that is used for camping pads...
Go the local camping supply store and slice a piece off of that
and double stick tape it in...
I cant see how that would adversely affect your safety.
Doesn't this "extra room" mean the helmet doesn't fit? In a collision it sounds like the helmet will roll on your head. This is not a good thing. I've heard stories of necks being broken by the helmet strap due to a helmet rolling when colliding with a staionary object. (It's an argument used by the anti-helmet law advocates.)
I'd get a new helmet. I had a hell of time finding one that fit me, but after about 10-12 attempts (and a mistaken purchase) I finally found an awesome Scorpion.
Good luck.

If you have to put a buffer in the helmet then you have the wrong size or shape helmet. Period.

well, having spent over $700 on 2 brand new helmets, going and getting a new one is out of the question.
The helmet does not have excessive roll. I cannot pull it off my head. I agree that I should consider other options but unless I can sell these I am going to stick with them.
I think the quality of an AGV helmet is VERY good and I can get them for a couple hundred less than a comparable Arai... etc.
So... Who wants a Brand new, only been tried on in the store, doesn't even have the wrap off the shield AGV XR2 helmet, in Large? $325.

If it has only been tried on in the store and doesn't even have the wrap off the shield why not return it and get a different helemt?
Quality of helmet isnt going to matter much if it doesnt fit right.
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
If there is space to put something in the helmet the quality does not matter at all. Since acceleration of your head in that free space is distance/time squared, the force sustained to your head and the helmet is gigantic in comparison to the propper fitting helmet.
If you can't pull the helmet off your head, have you kept it on since the day you put it on in the shop?
