Also, by "up" do you mean cracked 1/2 inch to let some air flow, or do you mean up as in all the way up, not over the eyes? in my experience, cracked won't get you a ticket, but up will, because the eye coverage is what's key.

If you run into a wall with a helmet on, you still ran into a wall.
Interesting to see the posts regarding insurance companies not denying claims based on helmet being legal. Typically, or at least from the stories you hear out and about, insurance companies can be counted on to deny claims over typos let alone things like legality of the helmet the insured was wearing. Like i said it was going way way out on a limb for that one anyhow.
You could wear the helmet for 5 years and get pulled over repeatedly and never have an issue, or you could get pulled over by a LEO having a bad day and have an issue. Its a gamble but one likely worth taking if you like the lid and the price is right.
