does anyone know of someone that can weld titanium either tonight or anytime before sunday. I don't care where or how much, but I broke off the plug that takes the place of my o2 sensor on my exhaust... can anyone help me out with a name and number so I can get my license this sunday?![]()
I'm almost afraid to ask how this happened...
Why not just match up a bolt from a hardware store?
Well I guess the exhaust is broken in
shoot a PM to GMDBoston. I hear he can weld trees.

It's a real bitch, but I can TIG it. I got fuckin no Ti filler rod, though.
You have a swanky ti exhaust, right? Arrow? I'd take it to someone who does a lot of Ti (I don't).
It ain't like welding steel, that's fo sho. Your average welding shop will probably just burn holes in it.
again the freeze plug for the O2 sensor popped out, somehow the welds gave way and the pressure popped out the plug.
From what i could see its not threaded but i could be wrong it was dark out and i couldn't get my finger all the way in to be sure........
I had something to type up after it but i figured you can all have your fun!
"freeze plug"??? wtf is a freeze plug doing on an exhaust system?
You mean a secondary O2 bung?
(I said bung)

I think I could do it... no promises for it being pretty though.

all i know is that there was a freeze plug or similair in place before, and its gone now! and it was from what i recall spot welded, i am not 100% sure, but yes it is strange. it is where an O2 sensor would go, but in the instructions for the exhaust itself it came with directions on how to override the O2 sensor as if not to install.....
very confusing and with our license test coming up on sunday looks like ill be on a harley and she'll be on the R1......![]()
No crappy exhaust that's falling apart on my 929 that's for sale......think about it...
as of right now I'm in contact with PK to see if he can get it in by this weekend
Thanks for everything so far...![]()
Is the bung being welded back in or is it going to be sealed up with a plug? I can do it, but I dont have any Ti filler here, I would need to pick some up.

I don't have the bung, so I'm assuming it will be sealed with a plug. I have a place that might be able to get to it, if I pull off the exhaust myself. It's obviously mid pipe so in order to block both sides of the pipe to weld, I have to take the exhaust off... Not good timing right now![]()
Alicia,
If you still got the stock exhaust, throw that mofo back on for inspection. When you're done put the Arrow POS back on. Temporary solution to your time sensitive problem.
it is a possibility, but there would definitely be more work as I would have to disconnect items relating to the PC3 mapping i would think...
You can leave it connected it wont cause any harm with the stock exhaust. All the PCIII does it smooths out your powerband and gives you some slighly extra HP.
If you're not comfortable with it running just disconnect the power to the PCIII and the stock ECU mapping will run. Once you restore power to the PCIII, it will override the stock ECU mapping like it is right now (I could be wrong so I leave this open to correction if needed).
that sounds logical, but keith is removing the arrow exhaust right now, and he said the o2 sensor hole is threaded so worst case scenario, we buy an o2 sensor and just don't connect it... it'll be a dummy, but that may be a better route than welding a new plug there.... who knows...
why not just put a bolt in to block the hole for the time?
