anybody who was at newbury st. the other night and noticed the R1 with a licence plate bracket hanging and facing almost directly downwards with no inspection sticker...that was mine. my plate along with my sticker were stolen, so that was just a temporary fix. now, with inspiration from jim (DB) i have self made myself a new bracket (and this time its legal
)
i cut out an L shape out of a side plate mount and used an L bracket to put it on the passenger peg. turned out pretty nice, now just need the sticker

does it fold back when you ride. my friends gixxer had something similar and it flopped all over the place when we rode. i was always waiting for it to fling off and hit me.

I had one made from L-brackets and it flew off
and I forever lost my "KLBLL" license plate
NH would not reissue it.
maybe if i plan on going fast or on the highway ill bend it vertically (illegally) to lessen the wind resistance

lol well thanks for the help jim. in any case, i feel pretty confident that it would pass inspection, because so far im cannot find anything that says the plate cant be mounted as such. it seems to be vertical=illegal, horizontal(and legible)=legal

well apparently the HD Nightster comes stock with a horizontal side mount bracket, so how do you explain that?...ive seen nothing so far about this "between the directionals" stuff. on my bike, the directionals are integrated with the brakes lights, even if i tried i couldnt fit my plate between that space...

I was wondering how long it would take before this was referred to as a Harley mount. Harleys don't have to worry about speed causing enough wind resistance to tear the plate off or lean angles that might drag the plate on the ground mid corner.
You should hang a bell off of the end like cruiser riders do. Unfortunately the bell can't be purchased by yourself, a friend needs to gift it to you for good luck. Maybe Jim can hook you up and you can return the favor.
