Yep, won't work because it is PAL format. Has nothing to do with region encoding.

I ripped a copy of my PAL DVD and I then stream it to my PS3 using PlayOn. Full Hi-def.

The Bluray disc I got was defective so I wasn't able to rip that, which sucks because I really wanted to watch the full ride-along footage.

Now I definitely need to visit my relative on the Isle of Man.

NTSC vs PAL died with DVD AFAIK, it's MPEG, play it back at whatever resolution ya want. Region encoding on the other hand, the PS3 WILL honor which means no UK fun for you!

NTSC is 30 frames per second. PAL is 25 frames per second. So your DVD player needs to be able to handle both, which is rare (or you can get a converter).

Unfortunately, these formats did not die with DVD or Bluray.

And, as i believe is the case with all documentaries, this DVD does not have region encoding.
