I think the fact that both of you sat and 'waited' goes to say it wasn't a typical rider branch off. For the five minutes you waited, it would have been much more productive to just turn around and drive for 2.5 minutes or until you found Lauren. Ken, your post just makes you sound like a cock addict. The two of you should just take as much as you can out of this, and probably avoid leading any rides out of town for a while unless your heading the same way your friends are.
So lemme get all this straight:
A group met up and did some riding. The ride was over and people were peeling off to go home any time they wanted. One bike broke down during this event but it was already known by all riders in that group that people were heading home and were apparently free to peel off at any time.
Now all of NESR is upset because two riders unknowingly stranded one rider?
I'm not sure what's more ridiculous, the fact that a mistake has been already acknowledged yet the NESR elite feel the need to continue to chastise or the fact that no one was hurt at any point during this occurance and people want to get stuck on the "what ifs" like it means anything.
It was a fucking mistake. People learned. Get over it.

your not responsible for how people ride but when you do go down (when) and your group keeps on trucking youll come to realize how important it is to keep track of everyone. and when you leave as a group any rider who plans on leaving will tell the group they are going so that the guessing she went home part is avoided.![]()
personally as i said i dont know boston, i would really not have been able to figure out how to get back to where we were. I was not leading, i was following Dan for the most part and as i said, we had no final destination, we were just crusing, for all i know we were going by her street and she decided she was tired, i really didn't know, and im not trying to say that i dont feel bad, i do, i feel horrible, i feel worse that i'm gonna loose 1 friend, possibly more over a MISTAKE, but hey, you live and learn and i guess even when just crusing around pointlessly you should have some type of route.
Corey
and Jim, people were kind of letting is know they were splitting off, but as i said for all i knew we rode by her street and she turned on to it, i know ralph was about to turn on to his street and we were like hey you going home, like it was just kind of a ride around, waste some time kind of ride.
Corey
You're right, it was a mistake and two of them have acknowledged that mistake, have apologized, said it was a mis-communication and that they might have handled things differently. They seem to have learned from their mistakes and I highly doubt either will make that mistake again.
One rider, on the other hand, sees absolutely nothing wrong with what happened and wont even entertain the thought that it would have been a good idea to circle back really fast or make a phone call during that 5 min "wait period."
Mistakes happen, the important thing is to learn from them and from the above posts, it looks like 2 of them have, but we still have one ignorant one who I will not be seen on a ride with!

You make it clear that you'd handle the situation differently, that's most excellent.Originally Posted by MattyM
Thing is, you (all) have to accept the fact that this is how someone feels about the situation.....the same amount of conviction just a different outlook on it...and now you want someone to acknowledge something that *you* feel they should acknowledge even though they don't feel that way?
Not sure what good fake apologies do but if that's what's going to make you all feel better...
are you saying my apology is fake?
Corey
Does it really matter?
yes it does, im trying to clear up this issue and then i got people telling me im fake? you havent even met me so dont judge me purely based on 1 incident. People forget to leave out how i moved there bikes for them and generally take up the back of the ride to make sure everyone is ok, but everyone seems to tell me that i shouldn't be a back of the pack rider because i dno why people just tell me i shouldn't
Corey
I don't seem to recall me calling anyone anything here. Don't worry though, because one thing I can guarantee you is that I'll tell you exactly what I think and it will come through undiluted.
If you apologised simply to appease people then, yes, your apology is fake. I did not call *you* fake so relax.

You guys have fun with this. I'm sorry if I offended anyone.................okay, actually I'm not sorry but who cares? You only wanted to hear the words anyway.

I don't blame ya. The rule is, you never leave your wingman. Even if ya got ten of em. But i know this situation ain't the rule, Femme's. I only been around NESR for a couple months. I partied wit some of the boys, and I promise ya, flat out, none of em up at Chris' in Epping woulda dumped ya like that, and fer a factoid, the Deebs dint. Mosta wouldn'ta.
Seein the reactions, if peeps gonna let me hook up when me and the C-14 show up, I got no qualms. These doods and wimminfolk are golden. Most of the peeps here and for a fact, I, don't leave our wingman either. Your story of that night sucks, but reminds all that overall, this place is a-ok. Best of all, the Deebs hung with it.
I suggest copious quantities of alcohol, as did you!. Try not to be too pissed, and a few folks learned something I never saw addressed here before, but heard happen down here in redneckville a time or two the last thirty years.
Happy hangovers! I know drinkie-poo's will make me very happy too! AND, after they fix the recall, *I* get my C-14!
Life is grand, and there's lottsa good weather comin' up!Well, as soon as I get past the 90+ shitty-weather down here and git north to Shangri-La!

The ride was not over, the four of us were riding together indefinitely, and had all agreed to do so...
Wow... the "everyone" who was splitting off to go home was Ralph...who not only communicated verbally that he was going home prior to us departing for the ride together, but signaled at the turn that he was at that point leaving. There were 5 of us riding together, Ralph went home. Then there were 4 of us riding together. TOGETHER. End of story.
Corey and Kenny, thank you for posting. You have definitely reedemed yourselves.I suggest you use spell check and auto punctuate/capitalize when they invent it in future posts to avoid sounding like the 12 year olds that you are.
I started this post to thank Jim for helping me out... you doomed yourselves through your own actions, not mine.
