So if you've followed my other thread, I got rid of my RC390 because I was no longer commuting to work and barely drove it. The killing factor is that I had to street park it, and I typically leave for long periods of time and need to find a place to store it. It also was very bad for going 2 up around the city.
Well, I had some friends in town and we had a good rip around on the Revel electric scooter shares. https://gorevel.com/mopeds/moped
Then it hit me....something small and electric would be PERFECT.
1) My partner and I can both drive it easily
2) When I leave, I should be able to just put it in my apartment to store it
3) Gives me the opportunity to get something that is much better for a passenger
I have wanted an EV for awhile, but another car does not make any sense to me. But there are a few other requirements....
1) I'd like to stay under or around $10k. It wouldn't take much to go above this for the right vehicle
2) Smaller in size/weight the better. I gotta get this thing up a flight of stairs to get it inside. This won't be something I do often. Maybe 4 times a year. I think 300lbs would be doable.
3) A removeable battery would be great for charging, but not mandatory.
4) I actually don't really care about range. SF is 7 miles wide.
5) Would like some decent power. A google search says the Revel Scooters are 2960-watt...assuming this is right, this is the minimum.
So, my brain immediately went to some form of small electric cafe racer. Google images provide A LOT of centerfold material, but seemingly they are all in Europe or just concepts.
I'd like to support something like Zero, but they're expensive and way too big.
I am not at all opposed to a scooter. Vespa has an offering, but would like something cooler and more niche.
There are LOADS of random, off brand, moped looking things. Would like to avoid unless its super rad.
So, I'm polling the audience. Does what I want exist?
If not, I'll end up with an E-bike.

Well it won't gain you much street cred but I love my electric stand up scooter. They make all kinds from mild to wild - if you need two up ability just buy a pair of them. They are not motos but still are fun to rip around on.
You could look at a Hunter Quad if your looking for a beefy stand up. Too industrial for my tastes however.
Super73 are really popular in europe. Bone stock they do nearly 30 mph and its almost instand how fast they get there. They rule at the stop light grand pre.
If I were in a city I’d be all over a OneWheel.
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
Dont have any advice but I'm excited to see what you end up with.
if you were me ... SUPER73!

If you have money to spare burn, then can I recommend Cake bikes?

Need to take some time to sort through all of these!
But to respond in a FIFO order...
Not getting a onewheel. Nothing against em, just not for me.
The Super 73 came highly recommended. I was looking for more lightweight cafe racer, but its definitely growing on me. I was also thinking I could put some hooks for groceries in that big old hole in the frame.
The Sur-Ron isn't what I'm looking for either. Specs and price are definitely in line. But think cafe vs motard. The more compact the better.

Isn't the super 73 exactly what you were looking for? Don't like the pedals?
I don't mind pedals. But it lacks passenger pegs and I was looking for something more motorcycle and specifically cafe racer.
Interested in more of a pure lightweight motorcycle with a price tag to match (in lieu of a caged EV) than a pure commuter toy. Something along the size of a Grom but cafe styled.
This is a custom job built off of an LMX161 (which is more like the Sur-Ron that Paul posted)

Or a smaller version of the Dab Concept-E (which is just a concept and in the EU)

I was looking at a metacycle for some of the same reasons. 80 miles of range (supposedly) and 80 mph (also claimed) seems to serve most city purposes. Comes with passenger pegs and its 5k. Can't test drive one just yet, but it looks enticing.
The Sonders is definitely cool and the weight is right, but looks like reserve only for now.
