aw bummer, was hoping for you to be the first NESRian to make the jump and get your input
maybe later
@onecheek - the intense cycles Tazer is about what I'm looking for! But they're mostly a $3,000-$4,500 bike, and I am pretty sure I can likely get a $1,500 Haibike...the all mountains are $1,300 on offer up; I might even be able to snag one for a grand.
Apparently they're not good Santiago Peak rides![]()
eMTB's do offer assistance, but going up a grade (which is what most bicycling is) will drain your battery fast and chop your range, so you should be pedaling on top of its own power. Contrary to what people think e-bikes are, you still gotta do a lot of pedaling to get the most range out of it
So it's likely a good local trail bike for mtb-ish stuff (I've heard Santiago Oaks, the Luge, etc.) but not even close to a proper dual sport ride
It's still fine; I'm just looking to hit local trails after work maybe 1-2x/month. Not having some sort of hobby that gets me out into nature is driving me a little nuts.

I've already been beaten to the punch by at least one NESRian...
Watched a video last night on youtube of the new enduro offering from https://www.arctic-leopard.com/.
Based outta China but said it was a stark varg level bike when it comes to enduro. Beyond that I know nothing.

Ha, yes, you still gotta put in work on an eMTB. I liked the Tazer for when I rode after work... on a conventional MTB I'd get 1 run in before the sun went down. On the Tazer I'd get 2 or 3 runs in, but that's SoCal heavy climb, big descent, and repeat.
A Haibike might be great for you, I'm just not familiar with them and making an assumption based on price point. I like to hit drops and jumps so things like suspension, brakes, and overall geometry are really important to me and ultimately command a higher price. Or maybe my friend group peer pressures me into spending too much on parts I don't need
If you need to get your fix on occasion, you can borrow my WR250R.

If trials is what you want, they do have at least two straight up trials bikes.

I'm definitely leaning strongly towards electric for my next toy.... even just a SurRon or Telaria or something like that to rip around with Oli once he's big enough for a Stacyc. Doesn't have to be a full size dirt bike, though I wouldn't mind selling the CRF and going that route. That would be nice.

^ thnx for the trials links and i hear ya ... friends of ours just sold allll their gas bikes for E variants. i want that Beta Explorer so, so bad for toolin' around
Beta 200RR
Article bout the Beta on a site I've been seeing pop up in my feeds lately. I didn't realize the Beta Explore was only about 5k.... that's more than I wanna spend, but now on my radar.https://electriccyclerider.com/2024/...rue-performer/
They seem to be an excellent resource. Lotta youtube vids reviewing all sorts of fun shiznit that you & I would love.
Perfect example: https://electriccyclerider.com/2024/...-5000-in-2024/
Hmm... to sell the CRF or to keep the CRF? If I sell the CRF I'll also be losing an Ice bike, so I'll prob hold onto it for another year or so & see what else develops.

Nice, dude. Yeah, long term plan is to def buy at least two electric bikes, cuz we've got the same situation here with a trail in the woods. It's just one trail that goes half the length of neighborhood, but I'm hoping to expand a it a bunch.
Red is existing, orange is the area I wanna build a little track on, and assuming that happens & it goes well, maybe one day I'll expand to the east side of the solar field. Already talked to the neighbors about it & they're all cool with it. Some are even willing to help out.

Definitely no go on a MX helmet for me on a pedal bike, including electric. I got this to have a one and done trail helmet + bike park helmet: https://www.bellhelmets.com/bike/p/s...AaAgdYEALw_wcB
otherwise it's pads over joints, gloves, and mtb shoes with SPD cleats
