congrats, man! super stoked for you, that's going to be one badass 'dirt' bike. not sure if you saw the demo day Motorsport Int had at 508 but i think every test rider was super impressed.
i tried to buy a bike or two from MotorBikes Plus but never worked out. seem like a good shop.

Found my French counterpart.
All that and no actual footage of racing/riding on track?
Yup, Josh's french counterpart, lol.

Hah, I did see he's commented on FB that he was burning about 50% battery at 35hp on a 20min race? Not looking good for a Varg at Loudon with those numbers.
My son's only 5 months and I'm already stoked for dirtE bike shopping for the two of us... Clinton, hit me up when your son outgrows the KTM and you're no longer riding the Explorer.![]()

If there's one thing the Italians do right, it's electronics.........................................................
... Jokes aside, there isn't a single country or company that I don't hope succeeds in the alternative power source vehicle market.

with the pace at which everything is getting better it seems to be a timing thing for when to jump in...i'm not ready yet but i like how things are progressing

First timestamp is the 'B' group, the Varg rider transferred to the back of the 'A' group for their final race of the weekend in the second timestamp, where he got 17 out of 18. The A group pace at the front was a solid 5 to 6 seconds a lap quicker than what he was putting down. I'll admit some delusions of grandeur thinking I could potentially have put up a fight on my 150SX in the B race... the dirt looked way less technical than Boxshop.
Was he in the 35hp club, or big boy pants club?

Racing full on four fiddys. No details on setup, power mode, etc though.
Didn't look like 80hp, but might be traction limited.

The few examples I've read so far show most aren't actually using the 80hp setting typically, one rider is noted at using 56hp on pavement but dropping to a 36hp map for dirt for more control. A different racer is using 80hp on pavement, 60hp in the dirt (again, for better finesse), feels the bike is about equal to the 450s, maybe 'a bit' faster, stock gearing. (14/48 if shipped with a 19" rear, 13/48 if shipped with an 18") Universally, everyone wants Stark to offer the throttle response curve adjustment promised when first advertising the bikes.
This is progressing faster than anticipated: Email from Stark, my VARG is in the US, dealer should have it in 5 to 7 days.
Congrats!!

Anyone dabble in the Emtb world?
Sold the YZ, looking for something to fill the void and hit local trails to work/home.
I am hoping the Covid pricing has returned to some sort of normalcy, and there are now a ton of low mileage Emtb’s for sale at half the cost of new.
Is there a DRZ400-ish version for $1,500 out there?
From what I’ve barely read, avoid the Uber cheap $895 china bikes; but I’ve also seen $1,500 Haibike’s out there, and they are apparently pretty good
I did prototype testing on the Intense Tazer back when I did some work for the company. Like a DRZ, I think it comes down to how you'll be using the bike and your expectations. I can be pretty cheap, but spending decent money on any modern bicycle, let alone an eMTB, is well worth it in my opinion... especially if you go off any sweet jumps.
I only really know Intense since I was able to see its development but since they're local to us I know there's a lot of used ones that popup on marketplace. They usually do a bunch of sales/incentives too: https://intensecycles.com/products/tazer-dvo

Ryvid's Wildly Affordable Electric Motorcycle Looks Like the Metacycle We Never Got
https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/enth...9dabca70&ei=26
After the massive letdown of the Sondors Metacycle, we’ve learned not to get too excited about an affordable electric motorcycle that also looks really nice. But looking at Ryvid’s new Outset and its $6,000 price tag, we’d be lying if we said we’re not excited.
First of all, the Outset is an electric motorcycle that can get up to 70 miles on a single charge and can hit more than 75 mph at an attainable price. That may sound too good to be true, but the startup has already found early success with its first model, the Anthem, which was made for city commuting. Now the company wants to bring that insanely good value to an electric motorcycle that’s meant for more than paved roads.
Before we get too invested, let’s first look at what Ryvid is promising with the Outset. You’ll have to be in Eco Mode with its regenerative braking to get that advertised 70 miles of range. However, there’s also a Sport Mode if you’re more interested in performance and pushing out as much as 53 lb-ft of torque. Those specs are thanks to a 72V motor that’s powered by a removable 4.3kWh battery. Once you need to recharge, it’ll take more than two hours to get from 0 to 80 percent with a standard 110V outlet, but just over an hour to get that same amount of charge with a level 2 charger.....
We have to mention Ryvid’s modular design too since the company says you can convert your current Anthem model into an Outset or the other way around. There’s a good amount of DIY involved since you have to order from Ryvid’s 3D parts catalog and follow some instructional videos, but this level of customization is just gravy on top of an already solid design....
Canceling my Stark, bike has been at the dealer for awhile now waiting on a rear foot brake kit to match my order. Been some run around on that on Stark's side, no ETA as of now... whatever. In the meantime it looks like my primary potential use case has gone down the shitter... between that and this weekend at Loudon costing more than anticipated, I don't see the Stark as a good fit at the moment for my plans.
