lowering bike

if i lower the bike to the max, .5" maybe, would it effect the compression/damping settings? and i would have to readjust? i hate to play w/ these.

Lowering doesn't change the settings but it may make you have to change them. Find the right comp/rebound/preload and LEAVE IT ALONE!
