Back story: I just bought a 2012 Tuono V4R.
I am wondering if anybody has any insight to a question that has been on my mind. I have been working on cars and bikes for a number of years now. I am an extremely competent mechanic. I am wondering if servicing my new bike by myself would somehow void the 2 year warranty Aprilia gives their bikes. I have read through the manual and I didn't see anything that stands out other than FOLLOW THE MANUAL. I would prefer to not pay a dealership to change my oil just to keep the warranty.

Not sure if every dealership is different buy my father's last 2 brand new CARS (Toyota and Hyundai) I maintained based on the service scheduled they laid out, saved every receipt, and when warranty service was required Toyota just wanted to see oil change records, didn't ask for anything else.
Ask the dealership that will be doing any warranty work what they want to see to honor the warranty.
In the US it's illegal for warranty claims to be denied due to service being done by an independent mechanic (even if that mechanic is you, as long as you've kept receipts/etc).

However they can claim you did something wrong that caused a problem and then deny your claim if they can prove what you did caused the malfunction. If this ever happens idk and no that is not exactly how it is written but something to that effect iirc.

Yes. They could claim misuse or poor maintenance but its rare for that to happen.
Buy the parts thru the dealership and stay OEM is my recommendation.

Just ordered 5 OEM oil drain plug crush washers and an OEM oil filter from AF1.
I will be running Shell Rotella T6 synthetic in this bike as well.
My bikes have never been serviced by a dealership. I do all servicing myself. It's the best way to learn about your bike, how it works, how to work on it and oh most importantly save money!
