Seems kinda pointless. Is there really that much of an opposition to the law?![]()
It's not like some of those beannies hardley riders wear offer any protection as it is. I'll still be wearing my full face either way.

I think it will be GREAT if this law gets passed.I'll wear my gear still, but its always good to gain another freedom.
I've seen pics at rotten.com that are convincing enough reasons to wear a helmet.

except for the possible insurance hikes i am all for the new law.
i think darwinism will prevail and thin out the population for us.

I was leaving work on my bike a few weeks ago, and one of the guys out front taking a smoke break mentioned to me that it was "too nice out" to be wearing a helmet.
I of course felt rather foolish since I didn't know that my head was invincible on a warm sunny day and chastised myself for not taking advantage of NH's no helmet liberties.
So if this law passes, remember that helmets are not necessary unless the weather's crappy.![]()
well... yeah!
duh, dude... those raindrops HURT when you're going 75... sheesh.

So the masss cops will still pull you over if you are not wearing a helmet, just to check your age?

I'm all for freedoms in general but please - I think two points that have already been raised far outweigh these in this case:
- Hiked insurance rates
- Bad image of motorcycle riding due to so many dead/close enough morons without helmets
If you don't want a helmet just leave MA - no biggy.

I would wear one all the time , unless I was doing squid stuff in a parkinglot or an industrial park or on the highway in traffic, ya know wheelies, stoppies, rolling burnouts, that sort of thing, and I definately wouldn't want to wear one when I was going over the speed limit as fast as I could in a straight line down the highway, I think the helmet would get in the way of all the fun.

i have come to realized, after my recent crashed, that the price of not wearing full face helmet would have been much much greater than the price of freedom. there is some deep cuts in the back of my helmet and the viser had broken off. i was laying with my face down when everything stop.
i was just cruising and enjoying the nice weather and pow.
"fuckit!"
I have kept my helmet from my crash a few years ago as a reminder. It is very humbling to see it every once in a while.
I slid on my side and back, and the helmet has a flat spot in the back of it where it ground into the pavement, that definately would have been into the brain matter if I didn't have it on.
To each their own.............thats what makes it america, FREEDOM.

As someone with "several" crashes under my belt, I know all too well how important my helmet is.
That said, I am also in favor of no helmet laws... especially after cruising around Florida recently.
Yes, an accident can happen at any time... but if safety was our main concern in life we would probably all be driving around in H2's with full roll cages and helmets.
As for increased insurance, read the latest AMA magazine about that. Basically, the studies have shown that motorcyclists that are injured are NO MORE LIKELY to be a burden than non-motorcyclists.
and we all know that insurance companies are completely rational, and respond favorably to research that contradicts their profit/loss calculations.Originally posted by 35racer

i'm just saying that insurance companies WILL use the lack of a helmet law to jack up premiums.
The only "intuitive" interface is the nipple.
no direct effect on me . . .

There is no coverage under PIP when you wreck on a motorcycle anyway, so there shouldn't in theory be any raises to insurance.Originally posted by oreo_n2
