Berlin and points north....
I am looking for an update on the road conditions? i.e. 16, 26, 145, 110, 3? A group of friends and I (10 or so sportbikes) traditionally do a loop through the Great North Woods region come September. Last I knew (3 weeks ago) North Conway was all torn up, down to packed gravel. And I had heard rumors that 26 was a mess as well.
I'd be great to hook up with some local riders while we are up there.....

I'm up there most weekends as I have a summer place on Forest Lake just outside of Littleton. I haven't been over toward Berlin this summer, but the roads just to the west (Lancaster, Whitefield, Littleton, Franconia, etc) are pretty much status quo. (not torn up) I'm heading up tonight. I'll ask around and see if anyone up there has been to Berlin recently.
For a change, you could consider taking Rt 175 from Meredith up to the Lincoln area and then hitting some of the roads around the western side of the great woods. Rt 142 from Franconia to Whitefield is good. Rt 3 from Whitefield to Twin Mountain is good. Crawford Notch (Rt 302 in Twin Mt) is good. They all have a few rough areas (it is the North country) but are in decent shape and are a fun ride. Also, Rt 135 from Lancaster to Littleton is awesome. Nice twisty ride along the river and fairly new pavement.
Gordon-what was that little, twisty road you took me on up there last year?
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?

Thanks for asking around. I'll post a ride date on the board when my group solidifies plans.
We have a place in N. Conway we start from, then head up to 26 to 145 to Pittsburg down through Twin Mountain on 3 then back across 112. It's a decent 300 mile loop, some great spots to really get on it. Thanks for the heads up about 175. Definately have to check it out.
I had noticed the greater presence of LEO's in the Littleton/Northumberland area.

I'm thinking not. I don't even think it had a route number...Originally posted by scootertrash

What sort of pace do you ride at? Sounds like a ride I'd like to hook up with, but I wouldn't want my slow ass to hold up a fast group.Originally posted by ChicknStripEatr

....yeah!!...N.Conway is pretty torn-up( I played hookey yesterday)..it takes a while to putt thru....the wife and i did a ride from franconia thru Crawford Notch to North Conway then back to Franconia via the Kanc,,,,the Kanc has one area of Const that isnt too bad...maybe a half mile of Gravel and they had it wet down so it wasnt too hairy.....got caught in a couple rain showers,,,,it was a fun ride...![]()

There is a mixed group we ride with, all have several years expirence. Some ride harder they ride out front, the less aggressive usually sweep the back. We NEVER leave anyone behind, or make people ride over their head. We ride at a spirited pace when the road/traffic conditions allow. An all around good group of guys.
