Not true, my g/f gsxr has the same 1 headlight thing as well

It took me weeks to convince my sig other that one low beam was not broken when she rides my ninja 650. So convincing the law should be fun! She has gotten a ticket for using high beams in a car on rt 138 ri. So it is possible to get ticketed for the high beam use. I don' like the one lowset up.

Anything in the owners manual that could be copied to hand them? Just a thought.

Never had an issue with the 06 GSXR headlight config. I can see the Honda headlight config throwing cops off.
Must be a national thing cause all yammies in canada have both headlights on.
When my brother moved there after he got married, they made him change his headlights over so both would light up.
If loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to ride would do.
Does the owners manual mention respect? Pretty sure if you treat the officer with respect, answer him honestly that the bike is designed with a high beam on one side and a low beam on the other he'd be more than happy to send you on your way.
If you get an attitude and try to make the officer feel uneducated he'll probably let you go on the headlight but site you for every illegal aftermarket accessory you've added to the bike.

i believe it is not lack of respect in many cases and cops are not all the same, right? some are friendly some are not. you will get screw either way if they dont like your face. on the other hand if got big boobs or 3 star general, then you should be able to get off easily.

"fuckit!"
Anyone ever thought about replacing both headlights with projectors and rig them for both high and low beams? I know the angle of the mirrors is different, but it would be nice to have equally bright lights on both sides.
Other than that, since the last accident, I ride with my high beams on all the time during the day until it's dark enough to need lights. Then it's low beams in traffic and high beams on long stretches of low-lit roads.
Worst lights I ever had on a bike was my Bandit 1200 with the same rig, one light low, the other high, neither adequate. This Kawi has lights equivalent to my car or better. The NighthawkS before the Bandit had a single 6054-style housing that was better than the Suzuki. Lights are pretty important, dunno why they'd release the bike with suck-headlights.
I have an FZ6 as well and I work in Bedford...I ride with my highs on during the day and haven't had a prob yet...and the cops there are kinda jerks...(the VA cops mostly)...it's really your best bet and at night you can't tell that ones out...

I don't get the one headlight on one off set up. Don't like it. Why even make the bike with two then. I like uniformity and your right, you would be able to see better at night as well. Truthfully, I don't think a car is gonna think your another car if it sees two headlights...not that close together at any rate. Quite frankly when I see one headlight I think its a car with one light blown out. If anyone has gone riding with me they probably seen my one blue, one yellow set up. PO replace one bulb with another type of bulb. I'm not even going to bother replacing it because not only is it so noticeable (yet to have a car pull out in front of me) but they light up the ground in front of me very well at night. I've been ask few times if I have my highs on because one light is so much brighter, I tell them nope then put on my real brights and blind them. Can't tell in the pics, but one on right is the blue/wht bulb. I've never been questioned by the police about them.

maybe being so close together they think it will look like a car that is far away? I call BS on all of this..the cop must have had his head up his ass if he wouldnt listen to the owner of the bike giving him the explanation why it was like that.

Same here I got pulled over just leaving my place on the 636R,reason "one of your lights is out" I had to demonstrate the low beam and high beam ,and later found out he just wanted to see if I had a licence and registration for the bike .
So I just rode with both the low and High bean all the time
I've never been pulled over for it, but my bike has a single light for the low, then on the high beam, the low beam light goes out, and the other side high beam comes on...![]()

ya I found a mod on the fz6 forum to do a dual headlight mod, I'm not very skilled in electrical so I may have to recruit a friend. I'd like to be able to have low/high on both sides and not just lows on both and high on one. verbal warning didn't get recorded to my insurance.
I get complaints when I ride with my high beams on during the day. At night I get complaints when I ride with my low beams on. One of my friends I ride with told me to dim my lights and that they should be illegal. I reminded him that they were illegal and were for off road use only. My low beams are 110 watts and the highs are 125. I figure it gets their attention.
