Nikon,
Don's got one on the floor down at Land Air in that color.
Picked my 05 up this week but stuck with my Black/ Grey colors.
The red is super hot though.
For you Rich, keep on beating up on my beloved Busa.

I am so incredily jealous of you ....I would be more jealous if you got the red one
what you do with the old one?

Some guy squidly went 220-ish on his.
The vids amazing in that:
He did it with no gear
on a state road with 18 wheelers around (at the beginning)
and his GPS gave out the info.
FAWKIN crazy
the best part IMHO is the sign behind him in the rest area after his run.
When they focus on his victory smile, the sign says "no security".............
TRUE.

Don't mean to bastardize or ruin the thread, but I just don't see what everyone loves about the bike, not trying to be an jerk or start a holy war because of what I ride believe me, but what's the attraction, honestly? I looked at one when I bought my bike and think they are both awesome sport tourers that go like hell, but I personally didn't like the looks or length of the Busa as much. Thing is wherever I go there are hundreds of them and everyone is always like OOOHHHH a Busa, but I don't understand why particularly since they haven't changed the bike at all. Can anyone shed some light on my ignorance? With out being a jacka** please, I don't want to start a flame war, just an honest opinion question, what's the attraction?

well I think that the majority of people drool just becaue it is the fastest production bike out there and there is a certain draw to that. I think that it also has a bit of a reputation as something to work up to.
My draw is that it is not only the fastest production bike made butit is actually a sportbike that I can ride. I am 6'4" and over 300 lbs. Wanna see me try to ride a gsxr600? Aint gonna happen. My dream bike are the RSV Mille R and the Busa. As much as I love the Mille R - I would never own one cause I couldn't ride it. I have ridden one and it was probably the best 35 miles so far but that was all my knees and kneck could take. I need something bigger and more suited for me. I am comfortable on a Busa. I could ride that or the BMW K1200s but I would rather buy a busa.
That's my draw. I also think that they are sexy lookin. I know many don't like the looks but I do. I think that Bandit's are ugly and many other bikes that are fairly popular as well. Just different tastes.

Hah, the third bike I looked at was the Mille R! It wasn't the comfort level or size that kept me away though.... well I guess it was the size, of the price tag! I do understand the top speed draw that everyone refers too, though having owned one of two fastest bikes ever produced I can say it really doesn't matter much, some of those damn 1000's go just as good if not better! The Busa and 12 are both limited now, although you can get around that. I've been to 185 indicated on mine once, then removed the gov. and haven't been over 170 since. It was fun though, I have to admit it. And I'm with you on some of the ugly bikes people love too! Well if you ever want to throw a leg over the 12 and see how it fits let me know, and if I see a good $$ on a Busa I'll PM you!

well I have a rex 1200 so I know the power of one. I am not in the market right now to get a busa cause I am hopefully buying a house this summer and I have a baby on the way. Within the next few years (3-5) I hope to be able to move up. "normal" size sportbikes are just too damn small for me cause I am a tall fatass.Originally posted by bbhzx12

I thought the rex was around 120 horse? I know it's still a 1200 Kawi but not nearly the power of the 12 motor, I could also be wrong. Did you know Muzzys built a supercharger for the rex! Puts it up around 200 horse! Of course, a house is more important, stick to that!

Here is why I like the Hayabusa
It's original, you won't mistake it for any other bike. The ZX12R can be confused with the ZX9R/ZX6R, the R1/R6, CBR1000RR/CBR600RR, and the GSXR 600/750/1000(some years). Weather you like the look of it or not it is it's own bike.
Torque. I love the torque it has, mine is running about 80ft/lbs at 3000RPMs and there is just something about having that much power that early.
Comfort. It is a very comfortable bike. I didn't do any really long trips and not one overnighter last week and I put on about 17,000 miles.
Reliability. I know numerous people with over 50,000 miles and this is on a modded bike. I have talked with a couple of people that ever have turbo kits on 20,000+ mile bikes.
Mods. You can mod the shit out of a Busa, just like any other bike, but it's just easier. For $4000 you can add a turbo kit to the bike and not have to change one thing inside the motor (300RWHP). There is a huge aftermarket parts availability so finding used parts is also very simple.
Low state of tune. For being such a monster motor it is a very calm power plant. You can run regular unleaded in it with no problems. Being in a low state of tune also makes big power gains easy once you start modding the bike (if this is the route you want to go).
Flexability. This has got to be one of the most flexible bikes on the planet. You can go to any extreme and it does fairly well to excellent. With the addition of soft lugage and some comfort parts it makes an excellent sport tourer. In stock form it is a great drag race bike and it only gets better from there. Top speed racing is a given. As much as people don't ever want to believe it the Busa can do well as a track bike on more of an open track, it handles very well for it's size.
Nothing pulls like a Busa except for a 12R. I've ridden the 04R1, CBR954, GSXR1000 and they all felt like turds compaired to the Busa until the revs get up there.
I also think mine is "purty"

Not sure if you guys have seen the pictures yet or not but the 2005 LE model is pretty bad ass too. Gunmetal Gray.

my rex is currently putting out 80.2 lb/fttand 115.1 horse. That's with only a K&N and slip-on and rejetting. I am putting a jet kit in there as soon as I can make a trip to Montreal with a buddy- that should increase my numbers just a bit. I am more interested in the torque than the hp numbers because I never ride hard enough to get to the high HP numbers anyway and torque is an actual physics number. The rex is a nice solid bike but I will own a busaOriginally posted by bbhzx12

i noticed that too - but as usualy Randy beat me to it
that LImited one is pretty but I rikey the red. They really didn't do too much different between the reg busa and the LE one though - I thought that they woulda put some extra parts on there/upgraded parts...

I agree with everything Buas413 said and more.
First and foremost they are bullet proof.
I have had only one mechanical failure with over 50, 000 Busa miles ridden.
and it was only the slave cylinder on the clutch, and I was able to power shift her home anyways.
Second off they are the fastest mother frickin bikes out there if you know how to ride.
Ask anyone whom owns one.
Be it a roll on, twisties or dragging the power and torque are always there for your riding pleasure.
I could go on and on, but I have said my piece for now.
TIMMYDUCK
Timmy.....r u f'n nuts? You just said the Busa handles well???LMAO.
I'm not the quickest person out there by any means, but there is nothing more priceless than being at the end of a set of corners and having to wait for some guys on 600's and litres with puzzled looks on their face just after they got done trashing the "fat, can't handle, good for nothing but a straight line" Busa...LMAO.
As far as the limited not being all that different, you're prettu much right. It's just like most other Jap limited or special editions, it's 99.9% cosmetic. With the Busa the only thing the limited gets over the regular model is a black powdercoated frame/swingarm and a solid paint color. To me it was worth it because I'm not big on the multi colors unless they are dark (like Timmys last one) and I do like the black powdercoat.
Busa I don't understand your last post about handling, please explain.
Because I think you mis-understood the post.
