but I have taken a spin on both, I like the 12 that much better, for me being 6'1" the busa is way to low kinda feel like I'm sitting on the street, but that's after riding a 49" seat height chicken(lol) I like the 12 and it''l hopefully be my next ride cause of the height thing, my take I don't care bout top speed or mpg, I just don't sitting to low

Thats the way to do it, sit on them and see what you like. Who cares if one or the other is a tenth of a second faster or slower here or there, that's not with you on it anyway. Heck my bike will run low nines at the drag but not with me on it, I'd be surprised if I got into the 10's! If You like the bike, and your comfy on the bike you'll have fun no matter what it is.

Oil Change - 3000miles

Rear tire - depends on your wrist. I've gotten from 1300 miles to over 5000 miles and I don't ride easy but I also don't beat the hell out of it (burn outs).

Chain - 17000 miles and I just changed mine.

MPG - Even with cams, exhaust, PC3r, stacks, box mod, BMC race filter, and a custom map I can get over 40MPG no problem and non cali models have a 5.5 gal tank. (I heard the 12R gets worse with a pipe but I wasn't sure). This can also be reduced to under 20 MPG but again it's all in the wrist.

Rear seat is great from what I'm told for passengers. It's about 80% the size of the front seat and just as much cushion.


I'm 5'9" so it fits me better. You can get different pegs (Buell/GSXR1000 and it helps out with the leg room for taller riders) bar risers and you will have a more upright riding position.

One more thing is the windscreen is kind of low, meant for a full tuck to get out of the wind in hi-speed runs, so a lot of people go for the double bubble or larger.

Milage 28- 50 are my extremes . Average is 38-42.
180-200 miles per tank, you carry 5.5 gallons full.
Tires, running Michelin Pilot Sport HPX's 3200-3600 miles.
Stock Chain 15000 miles if you take nice care of it.
Front pads 10,000- 12,000 miles.
Rear Pads = Never.

Hmmmm, I guess I'm another that doesn't see the over the top beauty here. To me, the 'Busa kinda has a face only mother could love. It's really bulbous looking, not a desirable look to me. As opposed to the distinct and attractive lines of the GSX line or the stripped, simple look of the SV's and GSF's.

Chalk it up to personal taste I suppose, but the Hayabusa just does absolutely nothing for me in the visual appeal department.

HA, the Hello Kitty Busa! Seen that one on the 12 board too. You ever frequent labusas.org? Went on there once and read some posts about 1/4 times and top speed runs, there was 1 12 owner in there causing quite a riot! Man people get stupid about the Busa/12 rivalry! It's kinda amusing! Did you see the chopper Busa? Silver chopper with a Busa motor and the jab logo on the side, looved pretty good, I've always wanted to build one with the 12 motor.... a chopper that actually moved, what would they think of next....

Man, I was tryin so hard not to piss anyone off in this thread. You know you may want to check out a 12, they are great bikes and the resale value up here sucks, you could definately get one cheaper than the Busa, but it isn't worth it if you don't like it.
Do the right thing, buy a house. I bought my first condo 6 years ago, I was scared as hell to do it. I look back now and don't know what I'd do if I hadn't.

We are starting the process of looking for a house/townhouse and it is very intimidating to start with. We haven't yet met with any realtors but just looking through the books and online it's frustrating cause we are poor and it's intimidating cause of the prices and knowing how the process works. We'll see what happens.

Nikon, I felt the same way, writing the check for the deposit was the most intimidating feeling I've ever had I was totally scared! As long as you consider every cost down to utilities and taxes and you can afford it, go for it. At the closing you'll still be scared to death, probably have almost no interest in the house you've picked. Then you walk through the door the first time, when it's yours, and it's a great feeling of pride, relief, and excitement. That's when you start to enjoy it. Everything before that sucks, but it's worth it! I'll bring the steak tips for the 1st cookout!
