how to paint my helmet???

Looking to paint my helmet, nothing crazy...

Anyone have a basic step by step?? what I need to do etc.. equipment, supplies etc.

The current scheme is prety garish.

any divots, nicks, scratches or scrapes have to be "feathered out". and just tape up what you don't want painted. if your helmets in pretty good shape you should be able to just scuff it down with a fine or ultra fine scuff pad...

it's pretty much a new helmet...


so scuf it out with a pad.. ten just prime , paint and clear coat?

any types of paitn I should stay away from that would compromise the integrity of the helmet?

that i don't know.. i had the painter @work paint mine, w/ automotive paint(basecot clearcoat system).. i'll ask around,and get back to ya

okay.. just asked one of the guys here. he said "legally your not supposed to paint a helmet".. which we all probably know..he also said as long as you don't get down to the gel-coat of the helmet you've got no worries.. you won't compromise the helmet if you just scuff it and paint it w/ any auto paint.. he also said you won't get down to the gel by just scuffing it.. hope this helps
