Have any of you experienced this phenomenon...
You're buzzing along on the interstate or other divided hwy. making time but not tearing it up mind you.
Suddenly, while focused mostly on the road ahead as high speed would encourage some moron in his car is halfway into your hip pocket!
Last Fall when I got my VFR: Heading south on 24 at good speed, chop the throttle to begin drift over to the right for upcoming exit some 30-ish guy in a Subaru nearly kisses my left elbow!
Last weekend: I'm making time on 95S to get back home to look after my dogs, check to the right for space in next lane a 20-ish kid with his girlfriend in his Saturn (who I'd passed earlier as he trundled along in middle lanes) barely misses my front wheel as he passes me cutting into the minimal space ahead in my lane!
WTF!!
Dude, I don't care to die today, besides you bloody idiots...
If I were trying to race you you would have lost sight of me about 2 miles back!"

Dude, you're nuts. Street racing is dangerous, you should stop doing that.

Recently a FEDEX truck wanted to race me to the next light.
And don't believe everything you think.
Yup, it rarely ends well. Even if you do decide to dust them, when you let off they will come flying up your butt to give it another go or perhaps offer you props. Just what I need, somebody clipping my rear tire or weaving into my lane just to give me a thumbs up.
My suggestion, hold your speed down until you get to your exit ramp. If traffic permits, dust them in the corner and never look back.
Yea people will always do some dumb things when they see a bike coming up the highway.. whether it is requesting a wheelie or trying to race you.
all the time. even old people when your behind them feel it's go time. we are putting along at 35 in a 35 when granny checks the mirror and floors it. i usually keep up to see how far i can push them. they ether give up or really give the buick a beating. hilarious specially when they get pissed they can lose you and throw there hands up i disgust.
the highway thing is normal. i ignore it usually.
I've had people try to race me on the highway and worst of all on single lanes roads! i just have to convince myself that it's not woth it and slow down to get away from them. I mean it's not like you can pull away from themand they'll leave you alone, if they want to race they usually see you pulling away as a sign that you want to race, DUMB!

What night is Burlington BIKE NIGHT?!?!?!?!?!
TUESDAY...!!!!!!!!!!
i haven't had anyone try to race me.. not that i go fast at all.. but ppl see a ponytail sticking out and want to stay along side of me.. which i HATE...bc they aren't paying attention to whats in front of them but pointing like doush bags saying "OO its a chickkk"... all i need is for the car to drift where they are pointing.. i just try to not pay them any attention...
Exactly this happed to my friend coming up 95n she was in a group and some 20 something yo kids started fucking with her to race just becuz they saw the long hair and pink helmet she raced them a couple times until her husband told her to stop same kids cut her off and slammed on the brakes she went st8 into the back of the car almost lost her leg bc of it. Not worth it imo
Is there an old thread on here about this stuff?
I remember chiming in with how much I love when I see somebody giving me the old, "flip of the wrist, hand wave, do a wheelie" motion to lift it up in the middle of traffic (literally a car in front and behind) in a 25mph zone, next to a bus with kids getting off, and an old lady crossing the street with a bag full of groceries...
Seriously though... these morons will motion you to pull it up at under any circumstance which just convinces me more that most of them have never even sat on a bike themselves...

Oh you mean that mid-30's asshat in the white trash Ferrari? Or the newly minted driver in his mom's minivan? It never ends.

Old spray bombed civic hatch came up to me and my friend on his 05 r1 and gave us the stare on 93n. I didn't do anything, my friend dropped a gear....
All of a sudden, we saw flames out of the exhaust, a backfire like a gun shot, and hear a turbo spooling and the car pulled on him. I was impressed. If he dropped 2 more gears, it wouldn't have been a contest, but that was still impressive.

What COLOR was the hatch????
Jaime got pulled by a pink hatch, if I remember correctly, last year.
I had a stock '97 4 door lx try to race me on the way to hooters yesterday. He took off, I laughed and gave him the thumbs down.

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
Happened to me a couple times in the past. I just ignore them and keep my distance.
